Ultrafire P10 XM-L

Hehe, I just looked this light up on DX...that 18650 doesn't look like it's had a good day :P

To prevent shorting to the bezel... I ALWAYS coat the bezel and the emitter board with a thin coating of Artic Alumina epoxy. Much better thermal properties than Fujik or similar thermal "glues", dries faster and zero capacitance/resistivity issues - of course 5 grams is about $10 shipped so it's not cheap. But that's why I'm starting to make my own..... Nutz

I only remove the driver.

Then soldered the new driver to/in the brass part.

Brass ring is quite tricky to remove wih driver already in place (soldered from inside) Other option is to force driver out and damage outer ring trace on driver (still works fine)

Love the little stand you use to photograph the light.

Hi Moviles,

did you mod that TR-801 with a clip, XM-L and aspheric lens? Or is it avalable somewhere like that? I'm interested in doing something similar in maybe the Tr-803 (CR123's) so whatever you can tell me is helpful. I don't know a lot about those trustfires, so I assume that it's not a drop-in you had to replace the driver and star.
