UltraFire S6 CREE Q5 3-Mode Cool White LED Flashlight-Black(1x18650)

Just ran across this

At the very least...can you get a S6 host for $4.50?

If interested

i think i bought a couple of them for $3 in a previous promotion/sale.
Modded one with a frosted TIR, and got a smooth beam that’s nice at close range and far too weak to use outside.
can’t say much about them as i haven’t used them very much

Equivalentish rig from FT

$18 bones!

Heck just the Host body from FT is $14~

So a working flashlight...for $4.50...it's all about "the budget" ;)

i’d be disappointed if the fasttech isn’t of better quality all over though :stuck_out_tongue:

I bought a Sipik SK98 clone from them Ultrafire SH98 for $9.09 (before) I learned of better flashlights

Still can't beat it and I do enjoy it's focusing capability, but there are better type rigs out there...but the quality was impeccable and once the li ion shipping fiasco settled down, their shipping times got better

I really like FT...but I buy ALOT more from them than just flashlight stuff (I'm a vaper :D)

As i wrote elsewhere.

I had one look like this, with XM-L. Quality and driver is subpar. Gave it to friend for free.

I got it from WB. It’s okay light for price but definitely not comparable to Convoy lights. I made it single mode now I like it lil bit better.

A lot of these very very cheap lights are aluminum extrusions, very thin walls and rough quality. No comparison to the Convoy models.

edit: I'm a cheap bastard too, but I think a $30 light for $15 is better value than a $2 light that costs $4.

Totally agree with that.

This is not a convoy S 6 host at all..... the differences between the two are massive. It only shares the similar letters and looks a bit like the convoy straight tube light .other than that it's pure crap ..

It's not even a real ultra-fire..:P

these are crappy cheap ebay clone lights ..

think thin tin poorly tossed together with the worst materials you could find.

On the other hand Convoys generally are lights made to such a high degree that modders just shrug their shoulders and look for other lights to fix .Thats the beauty of the convoys...they need very little help.

these lights will need

better bodies

better anodization

better threads

better emitters

better pills

better wires

better reflectors

better lenses

better tail caps

better drivers

better better better ....better to simply avoid them

or

buy one

just to learn what a bad light really is vs. a good one .

It looks quite expensive

It says Orders will be shipped after February 6th on wb site

seems that all chinese shopping sites are ready to have Lunar new year holiday

I hate math

You didn’t use Wallbuys calculator. They’re magnificent. They can also foretell that 83% will buy some socks and also spatula after perusing Li-ion batteries. Great technology, this WB calculator.

I bought half dozen of these lights from ebay (marked S5), around $3 at the time, with 5-mode. Contrary to others, I loved them. Excellent for tinkering. I had a couple swapped with XML 1A and 3C, did the OL orange-peel mod, pencil-trace to remove memory, and the whole copper-braid works. They’re now flooding like an SRK, just not as bright obviously, but impressive nevertheless. Nothing else was changed, not even the driver.

I don’t know if these are the same. But for modding, they’re great for learning the ropes.

EDIT: These are NOT Convoy. Don’t expect quality anywhere near.

I have a wallbuys s6 bought for around 5$ in one of their promotions some time ago…
Quality is like a 5$ light.
Came with xpe in a huge white plastic ring and plastic lens. I lit it up two times and than I put it in my spare parts box and never touched it…

Even if you consider this just as a host consider that some of the convoy hosts are a lot better for just few dollars difference….

The same calculator they use to calculate lumens
