Ultrafire U-80 and Ultrafire UF-980L beamshots and brightness comparison

First of all, thanks for all the pics and the testing. Unfortunately it has only proved what I already knew: That I'm going to want to change the driver in this bad boy.

Great guess on the IMR. I saw 5.3A in the first 3 seconds and promptly yanked my leads away. :)

One thing we don't know is how much the switch in the tailcap can take. Will need some aligator clips with say 18ga wires to test.

Anyway, there's a picture of the solarforce V2. (done by old4570)

My HIDs are easier and less variables. LOL! (I started off with HIDs 5 years ago). They are much bigger, but if you really wanna go full bore they are also able to go much much much brighter (absolutely no contest). But all the LED hosts are great! Sealed

Just so were on the same page here, I was referring to the Trustfire flame batts he was talking about. And I called myself ignorant.

2 x Guangzhou Sanmak SM5200 modded to 75W. Dual flashlight mode like Stollman's Vector 192 Big F***ing Light.

Same meter, same distance (2m with tape measure extended, can't be wrong). Same Solarforce V2 batt.

U-80. 4160 lux @ 2m on the meter (not converted with that what 20% more for LEDs due to its deficiency in yellows as meter is calibrated at 2858K blah...)

UF-980L 4890 lux @ 2m.

Hotspot of UF-980 is slightly better too.

Tail draw for UF-980L, about 2.98A.

Tail draw for U-80, 2.59A.

DMM leads are capable of 9A plus as i use it to measure my HIDs. They are Uni-T 10A leads.
