I did the eraser trick on the inside of the head and the bottom of the battery to no avail.
Unfortunately, my light came from Hong Kong and I’m waiting for a reply from the vendor,
I have not run into that problem, yet.
Did you contact the seller? Luckily, the one DOA I had was purchased in the USA and they, (Going Gear), made good on it.

Note the two holes in the brass pill around 12:30h & 6:30h. I haven’t unscrewed it, but I can tell from my experience that the stock emitter tint is very good. It’s cool white, but far from the greenish I’ve found in all my i3S.

it should be relatively easy to remove the pill (use a pair of tweezers in the slots on each side and unscrew). If you can get that out, then you can maybe look for shorts or something?
