[Unboxing] FOLOMOV EDC C2 (Nichia E21A HiCRI)

but I would not EDC 3000k during the day, its just too warm (yellow), and dim looking, when my brain is adapted to daylight.
You've said this numbers of times but I never understood the logic behind this .
Why is anyone using a flashlight during the day ? If you do it's for a micro second to find a eraser dropped behind the desk .Who cares about tint or cri in the daytime .

You dont EDC a flashlight?

you dont use a flashlight when you change the oil on your car during the day?
you dont look under the dash or seat or in the glovebox or trunk of your car during the day?
you dont need more light when looking for something in a closet, garage, cabinet, or box, during the day?
you dont go into a dark basement, or attic, or look into dark corners during the day?
you dont need to light a pilot light on a water heater or oven, or furnace, during the day?

Does Your lifestyle offer no need, or opportunity to use a light during the day?

.

I recommend using a flashlight color temperature that is equal to or cooler than the ambient light that your brain is adapted to, whether during the day or during the night.

daylight has a color temperature of 5000k or more
so does most workshop, office, gas station, warehouse, and home LED lighting.

Using a 3000k source when the brain is adapted to 5000k +, will make the 3000k source look dim, yellow, or orange.

otoh, in full darkness, 3000k is very pleasant, and relaxing. I have several lights with 3000k LEDs… their main use is camping, and nightstand. I try to use them during the day, but they keep getting bumped out of my pocket by cooler LEDs that look whiter and brighter when my brain is adapted to 5000k ambient light sources.

They sent me one to review, I posted it over at YouTube, Folomov EDC C2 Flashlight Review - YouTube

Cool little light, good tint and interesting UI options. Bad clip and the side button is too easily clicked on accidentally.

I don’t have any issues with the clip. What do you find it lacking? I haven’t watched your video.

I agree about the too-easily activated switch. I lock mine out by loosening the tail cap a bit, if carrying it somewhere other than clipped to my shirt pocket.

It just felt too loose and thin, like it folds back too easily. It works okay as a pocket clip when the light is inside the pocket, but I kept it on my belt while testing it. It would come off almost daily from things like my jacket, bag or chair brushing it. I usually carry an Olight S1R II, and that thing just stays on until I want to take it off (most of the time). I would have preferred it to be slightly thicker, and with a bit more retention.

Thanks for the explanation.

All of my lights are clipped inside pockets, except for an 18650 right angle zoomie, which is clipped to my belt. It’s came off several times, but it’s so big that I usually hear it hit the ground / floor.

i can never understand why anyone uses anything but L-M-H-T-L-M_H-T type UI
with selectable memory

as someone else said, having it be unpredictable is terrible
so is L-M-H-T-M-L, with or without memory

everything should just convert to Anduril and BDWI ( be done with it )
