my 2015 iMac uses IOS 10.12.6 and can not be updated any further. It is not just a matter of updating my browser.
I will need to buy a new computer.

More on the image tests of mine.
The image of the light I made for the BLF10th Challenge was a resized, 900 x 1200, 261 KB image on my PC. I just noticed that at the bottom of the image it shows me it is a 900x1200 size and 240 KB when I place my cursor on the posted image. I downloaded that to my PC and it came in as 131 KB and 562 x 570.
The image of the rhubarb, which is baking into a rhubarb/apple crisp, was taken with my phone cam. It was only sent to be added to my message on the forum test page. No copy was saved to my phone. I forget what the phone prompted me to do, but I was under the impression the image would be posted and likely not saved. I have to check that out again. When saved to my phone those square images are 3024 x 3024 and 5 to 6 or so MB. The posted image shows size to be 1920 x 1920 and 312 KB size. The copy I downloaded to my PC came in as 750 x 750 and 157 KB.
It does allow me to download images in their full size and resolution, but I have to click on the image first (first click), expand it (second click), and then save it.
Alternatively, you can click the âdownloadâ button at the bottom of the image after youâve clicked on the image, alas, this seems to only work in Chrome but does not work in Firefox for me.

EDIT: But as far as resolution, yes, it looks like anything wider than 1920 pixels is going to get resized to 1920, which is fine by me.
Didn't the defunct BudgetAdroidForum run on Discourse?
No offense, but I think I prefer Drupal to Discourse.
I am not an expert, and I don't understand all of the pros and cons, but I like Drupal more overall.

Hmm, works for me:

Didnât the defunct BudgetAdroidForum run on Discourse?
Yep.
Thereâs still a lot of tweaking to do to make it look and behave the way that we would prefer. But Iâm open to specific suggestions about what you donât like.

The test site seems to want me to upgrade my safari browser:
This site will soon remove support for iOS and Safari versions 13 and below. A simplified read-only version will remain available. (more information)
Thanks for reporting. Could you please enlighten me about how old (or not) your iOS version is, and what options you might have to upgrade iOS and/or Safari and/or install a different browser?
I will need to buy a new computer.
Is that because their browser ban The hardware still looks fairly usable in 2022. That is infuriating. :smiling_imp:
I dont know why Discourse is not going to be compatible with my IOSâŚ
Maybe CPF and Reddit wont work eitherâŚ
my computer is 7 years old⌠nobody loves me⌠Im going to eat some worms⌠![]()
Okay, one specific complaint.
It's tough to tell the difference between threads with new posts and threads without new posts.
Threads with new posts have their title white, and threads without new posts have their title gray.
The white and gray are pretty similar on my screen.
I don't know what the specific fix should be other than using more contrasting colors.
EDIT:
Actually, the word "New" or "Updated" in red would work for me.
I think that's what BLF uses.

Couldnât you simply change from Safari to an alternate browser?
Try using the latest Firefox, Brave or even Chrome for example?

Have you tried playing around with different âColor Schemesâ (under âPreferencesâ)? Iâm using âSolarized Darkâ at the moment and the difference between threads with new posts and threads without new posts is quite obvious, but I suppose it also depends on your particular monitor and how you have it set up.
Anyway, yeah, it's something different and it'll take some getting used to. I really do like current BLF software, but I do understand lack of support is an issue.

I just tried every dark theme, and none of them solve the problem.

I can change that in the theme, but it seems to be have more indicators of new content apart from the color:

If thatâs not working for you it might be because youâre running in a private/incognito browser window. Try using your main browser session or an alternate browser running in normal mode.
I'm using Opera, not in private or incognito mode.
This is what I see.
(It's really tough to distinguish new threads from old threads.)

Could you please delete your cookies for blfdev.site and try again? I just posted a new reply and a new topic.
Okay, new threads have a blue dot next to the thread title but old threads that I never clicked on don't.
Also, old threads with new posts don't have a blue dot.
It's an improvement, but it's not perfect yet.

Also please delete your browser cache. It should look like this now:

Do I need to use a light theme?
I prefer a dark theme.
wle, northbeard, and Yokiamy I just manually activated your accounts on the test server due to problems with your email provider for the registration email.

For now itâs easier for me to figure out what everyone is talking about if everyone is using the same theme. Once we get that settled then I can enable the dark theme.
Okay, I just enabled the light theme.
Now new threads are black and old threads are gray.
The contrast is better, but it's not ideal.
