by the way… the venting holes were changed in the 1st generation already, if my memory is serving me well.
So that could still be 1st gen, even that is very unlikely.
I’ll get some detailed pics once they arrive.
The first gen had vent holes, the second didn’t. Contours don’t. The Contours also say 1500 cycles.
I guess when you’re down to £3.99, delivered! You have to get them bought.

Second generation still had venting holes.. until they changed that during in 2010. so, without the venting holes, they surely aren`t first generation.

Not even opened their packaging yet, but I’ll get to it tonight. I really don’t need any more AAs so long-term testing is on the cards.
All discharges will be at 550mA because that’s what my two chargers do. Likewise discharge to 1.0V is what they do.
Charging I’ll do at an amp in a Maha C800 - which can do 8 at a time which is fine as I can only discharge 8 at a time.
Initial voltage ought to get done for each one too. They ought to be pretty consistent if they are rebadged Eneloops.

I’m also in the market for some non-eneloops. I like eneloops just fine, just want some other batteries so I have something to compare :). I was thinking Tenergy 2400mAh LSDs but these might do.

So presumably they’d be later 2nd generation ones. My early 2G Tones do have vent holes. The manufacture date on their packaging says 2010-03

Second set of eight discharging as I type. Can’t remember the numbers for the first eight. I’m at work just now and the chargers are at home. Numbers this afternoon.

You know what Don, If you want another good set of batteries then you need to search Fameart 2300mah. I bought a set of 4 AA, 4 AAA, 4 D cell adapters, 4 C adatpters and a dumb charger for £6.99 from 7Dayshop. The amazing thing is the AA’s have been in a Bigtrak (if you remember Bigtrak) for 13 months and have been used in that time, as I have two boys. But they are still charged! So last night I took them out and checked the voltage. 1.27v and they where still giving 1.8A in my sipik, which meant they still had quite a lot left. The amazing thing is, the Bigtrak is meant for D cells so must have a decent drain. These cells aren’t LSD. And these have only been charged the once, when I bought them.
I have no doubt I could leave them for close to two years without losing there charge completely. Makes me wonder when I see statements like ‘Normal NiMh have no charge after 6 months’ Not these little buggers!

So, do we know for sure they are the same capacity? I can’t help wonder if they might be eneloop lites.
