Wall street protesters

There really is no cure for ignorance except education (formal or otherwise). The WTO (World Trade Organization) was the cause of all evil. Now it's Wall Street.

In the corporate world these would be the people who get upset over how much a coworker makes or whether or not a coworker came in on time while being the least productive worker themselves.

If the people in power had to abide by all of the laws they pass , instead of having their own pension , health care , and security , they might pass laws that made sense .

The Constitution was written in a way that states that no lawmaker can pass a law that they are not affected by , but they have circumvented this for a long time and in many ways .

I agree with you regarding health care and pensions.

What part of the Constitution are you referring you in your second paragraph? I don't see that in Article I Section 9.

That has always been a pet peeve of mine I want the same health insurance plan the House and the Senate has. I elected these people the least they can do is even it up.

OK I actually read the demands and I don't mean to offend anyone here but I am in, great plan. I don't know how to fund it I mean we print money out of thin air so there you go lets do it. Our country would be a Utopian paradise if this plan comes to fruition. We won't need free hover cars we will all be able to afford one once the plan starts to work and some great American inventor develops the technology.

the OWS demands seem pretty tame and sensible compared to those of Aussies "Occupy Brisbane" http://www.facebook.com/TheOccupyBrisbane?sk=info

"We simply propose a directly democratic and non-hierarchical social situation where neither capital nor the state determine the way we live or how society functions - that is what would be ideal. In other words, a real democracy in which we consciously and collectively determine social life. This is incompatible with both capitalism and state socialism - both of which produce economic and political monopolies."

Which to me looks like a very wordy way of saying anarchy.

personally i think the euro is in more trouble than the dollar, but i can only speak to americas situation.

trouble brewing. in just 40 years or so the generation that came of age in idyllic-ideal cauldron of the 1960's have become rapacious consumers whose motto seems to be, "i have mine, now screw the rest of you". we seem to have no interest in the world we leave our children. we are spoiled, whining, self-centered fat people who dont remember what it is like to work hard, work locally and do with less.

get used to it. its over. extend your local contacts. learn and support local farm and meat production. buy your eggs from neighbors. stop watching so much tv. stop spending thousands of dollars year on tickets and junk to said "professional" sports teams who have NO vested interest where, or for whom they play for. make sure your kids can cook for themselves. stop driving constantly. demand local light rail and public transportation and then use it. look at your region and see how they lived there before WWII and get used to that standard becoming the norm. stop buying. its coming whether you like it or not.

saddle up.

Well whatever it is ...it's coming alright

Wow there is a lot of plane traffic flying over the protesters today? It went from crystal clear and sunny to hazy in a short time, strange.

Does anybody know what those planes are spraying on the protesters?

Just a minute ago this was in national news in here.

yes, it will work very well, particularly with green energy, especially with solar panels

The great part about this is there's always someone else to blame and we (residents/citizens in general) can have a pissing match all day long and get nowhere. Once we take condescendence and arrogance out of protesting/debating and replace them with humility and respect then we'll start making real progress. But for now it's easier to scream and point fingers. We've become a society of self-proclaimed, passionate activists who know everything (and that goes for the rest of world, too). The fact is there will always be something to complain about and life will never be good enough. That's the mentality we have until we start acting grateful for the things we did well and have been fortunate to obtain and take on the flaws/mistakes with humility. You know... like WE made the mistake so let's fix it!
