WARNING: Cometa – read/fix BEFORE inserting battery

Well Cyberscudo, thanks
We all understand that people who you need to provide the info are having their weekends too, so I for one will patiently wait for an update Monday.

Seriously relax. This is the weekend, let the man chill out. This is not a life or death situation, I’m sure if he gets an update he’ll let us know.

Cyberescudo, Thank you Very Much for the update.

Best Regards,

George

Will it have the 2016 on the head?

Relax, they always put up a web page before the group buy code is live. Every. Single. Time. And a few people always get a little antsy. Every. Single. Time.

To my knowledge, no one has ever lost their spot in a group buy because of this. Just don’t save the code for a month or more, chances are you will miss out then.

Yes.

In for 1 nw

Sorry, yet another question. What is the min/max length of cells that this light will take?
Also, what is the maximum width for 18650s to fit in the 18650 adaptor? (e.g will “fatter” protected 18650 cells fit)
Thanks.

It has springs at both the driver & at the switch.

Re the 18650 adaptor, maybe Cyberescudo &/or Neal/Banggood can answer.

Best Regards,

George

If you hop into a hardware store and buy yourself a set of rubber rings roughly the proper size you can use 2 or 3 thick ones to hold the 18650 cells.
I have an array of 18650 holders but only if they fit tightly they wi not rattle, so in my box with cells I now have a bunch of rings to use instead, much easier

Thanks for the tip!

Is it possible to put the battery Extension from the “factory” JAx Z1 on the Cometa and insert two 26650 batteries- will it run, or is not good for the torch? regards

You will blow the driver. The driver used in the Cometa is designed for 4.2V, ie 1 LiIon battery only.

Best Regards,

George

Alright, I guess things are about to happen here. I kinda wanted to see a real test of the prototype before committing but that looks unlikely. So put me down for a nw please.

I guess this would be a good first zoomie for my collection…

I would like one in NW tint. Thank you!

Thanks George

Only if you add/change some parts on the driver, you can use 2 batteries. But this so called zener-mod is used for 6V LEDs like XHP50, XHP70 or MT-G2.

Thanks KG, will have to pass. Kinda not liking that part.

i don’t need 2016 on there, what is the purpose of that.?
i like as little as possible, or nothing, written on a light

I would like to change # 159 from cw to nw. Thank you.
