This post is a great idea. I’d love something with some real punch that can light a 1/2 klick down the road while still picking up the shoulders. Tint and CRI would definitely be on the list. I’m thinking 3500k LH351D or 4000k SST-20 as a starting point but not sure how well the XHP options do with high CRI and TIRs.

Really would this require any crazy amount of power at all? Figure most high beams are 65w halogens with around 1200-1500lm each (so maybe 3000lm total). Take that, double it to 6000 honest lumens and put it behind well designed optics and it should perform very nicely, no?
