PB&J on toaster waffles
I was at the library. They usually have little snack packs for people. They had some of the little packs of Honey Roasted Sunflower seeds. I got one and liked it. So I went looking to buy some.
They were made by a company called ZeeZee. I found that they only sell commercially. So off to Amazon.
I found these:
Pretty good, but neither as good as the library ones…
Bought 3 of the strawberry Layogurts when they were on sale (plain wasn’t available, ironically enough).
Opened 'em, and they were all liquidy, like those “drinkable” yogurts. I didn’t care, drank like half the bucket as if it were a strawberry shake. Yummay!
No idea if they normally come like that, but I would’ve gone back for more if the sale was still on. They go on sale every now and again, but usually 27 variants of plain (fine by me, as I mix blueberry jam into 'em anyway) and maybe a vanilla or two, but rarely rarely rarely any flavored ones like blueberry or strawberry.
Whups, hit the reply-to-M50 vs generic-reply. Eh, whatever…
Honey Crisp Apples for the win…
quote:
The annual estimated total value of the U.S. apple industry is $23 billion,
with five cultivars alone accounting for two-thirds of production
(in order of proportion): ‘Gala,’ ‘Red Delicious,’ ‘Honeycrisp,’ ‘Granny Smith,’ and ‘Fuji.’
Of these, ‘Honeycrisp’ is by far the most valuable: it has roughly twice the value per pound of the next most valuable cultivar, ‘Fuji.’
My mom loves Honeycrisp. I prefer WildTwist which is a cross between Honeycrisp and Cripps Pink. (Cripps Pink is sometimes branded Pink Lady)
I just got a bag of Galas today…
Pretty good for just eatin’, and mincing up with cinnamon/sugar to glop into oatmeal.
Halloween candy is already on sale/special in the stores.
BOGO, etc…but i have not seen KitKats, yet.
quote:
Kit Kat filling was revealed to be (or at least contain) crushed up Kit Kat.
Yep. Hella smart move. They can’t sell busted candy, so why not grind it up and stick it into The Magic Filling?
Same like when Carvel cakes went from actual cake discs with the syrup above/below, to the “chocolate crumbs”. Those are ground up cookies from Flying Saucers.
Man, I haven’t had ice cream in years, and now I reeeeeeally want some.
Not quite sure what to call these. Boloney Burgers? Boloney (vs Philly) Cheesecake?
Toasted kaiser, coupla thick-slices of Wunderbar boloney (that’s about as big as your head in diameter), murrcan cheese, and some leftover slices of vidalia just so’s I could wash and put that dish away.
Fry the boloney with a burger-press on top to squish it down else it bubbles up and only browns around the edges (ask me how I know…). Flip and toss cheese on top 'til it melts. Toss the first patty on the roll, lightly fried onion on top (no grease, just nekkid), then do the same with the second patty. Cap it, squoosh down, cut in half, devour.
Good cheap eats, and yummy!
(Ironic I had to go out of my way to get everything to make good cheap eats, though. Should be stuff you just want to get rid of to make room in the fridge, but I just had the hankerin’ for something like this.)
Nom-nom-nom…
Dark brown toasted sesame bagel, ham, turkey, gigantic biftek tomato, sliced vidalia, s&p, mayo. Would make Dagwood Bumstead proud…
So the whole tomatoe is just in there?
Almost. These were huuuuuge, and the nice thick slab I cut almost perfectly covered the bagel.
Think I’m gonna make another one now…
Chicken-with-rice soup.
Alternate title: how to avoid 1.5hrs trying to chisel out leftover rice you forgot about in the pot overnight.
Yeah, did that. So just added enough water too cover all the rice, dropped in a coupla bouillon cubes, brought to a boil, et.
Just hit the spot, too.
Sweet-potater fries. Nom-nom-nom…
Nobody else snacking on anything?
Had never heard of these until I saw them at Sam’s Club. If it’s cinnamon I need to try it. They are very good and will have to get more sometime. They come in other varieties like cheddar, sea salt, kettle corn and spicy.
