What blade did you EDC today?

CRKT 6520

Cold Steel Mini Tac tanto neck knife. When around the house I don’t need anything bigger.

honestly?i rarely carry a knife.

i carry a .45 acp six days a week when i am working.

shrugs

i figure, if god forbid anything ever ā€œhappenedā€? i dont wanna be the guy that brought a knife to a gunfight, lol.

PS - i had a little folding locker gerber. was a gift from my business owners family for a xmas a ways back, that was my favorite… until the clip snapped when it caught on something i ran into.

GREAT knife? with an ā€œaverageā€ clip, i suppose. pity… i actually liked it. it clipped nicely on my belt that runs thru my holster, actually keeping the holster from ā€œwalkingā€ any on the belt.

in hindsight? i would have rather had an ā€œaverageā€ locking folder knife… with a great clip. live and learn.

Could be you don’t carry a knife because you see them as a weapon and not a useful tool.

Unfortunately Gerber have a bad reputation. It makes me leery even of picking up their Applegate Combat folder. 420HC steel? In this day and age? And the fit and finish not good.

It’s not like I wasn’t always interested in a good blade, but y’all started something in here! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m having one made now, Damascus, and I’m sending the guy burl mesquite blanks that I’ve been sitting on for 17 years! Couple of weeks, says he…

Like this, but with different wood…

Looks like it will be interesting Dale. Can not wait to see pictures of the finished product of a few great minds.

Spyderco Salt 1.

Since I've lost my Boker Subcom clone, I've been EDCing this knife:

The one review on FT mentions an issue with a loose lock; mine had this same issue but I took the knife apart and fine-tuned the liner lock and it's secure now. It's a cheap knife with cheap metal. I don't expect it to hold an edge well.

Nice isti, I looked at that one pretty hard and decided not to get it.

The fixed blade damascus that is being made for me is being worked on. The mesquite burl blank I sent is being stabilized. He soaks the wood in a polymer while under a vacuum for 2 days, then when the vacuum is removed any air pockets in the wood are filled with the polymer, making it solid and completely waterproof. It also polishes up very nice, I’m told. The guy even looked through his damascus and hand picked a grain that worked well with the wood grain pattern. Can’t wait!

I couldn’t resist.

How long do you have to wait? What kind of sheath will you chose for it?

I was told inside 2 weeks, it comes with a sheath that has a neat style of it’s own.

Pictures please when it arrives.

Ganzo 720. Fifteen days from FastTech to Texas! I was definitely suprised at that. Took advantage of that 10% coupon. Nice knife.

Lovely aren’t they, I have the orange one. I couldn’t believe the close tolerances on the blade/liner clearances. I thought I might mess it up by loosening the pivot slightly but it stayed central no problem.
Very well built and heavy duty.
I’ve been out and about today so it was my UKPK clone for EDC - as usual.
