What cheap light for someone, who already has all of them?

Even Alexander The Great wept…

The original BLF Q8 is floodier and has a nicer tint than the Sofirn Q8 or Airpro DC7 (both throwier and more CW).

FW3A:
Seems to be some weaker Emisar D4 - too similar for the price

Zebralight SC700d:
I don’t see the point in spending that much money for a flashlight. Also I don’t see anything that makes this light so much better than let’s say a Convoy M3

Rofis MR50:
Seems to be a nice light, I will sleep over it, althought I don’t like high-power flashlights with zero cooling-structures

Original Q8:
Yes, this light is a bit floodier than the Sofirn Q8 - but if I need flood, I have 2 Skyray Kings with 12 LEDs + Carclo lenses and the MF01.

I think you see my dilemma - the flashlights I have seen so far aren’t different enough to them that I already own.
What a First World Problem this is :person_facepalming:

Why not a decent Headlamp

well… I don’t have a headlamp yet
preferably not one with one of those right angle lights.
I just put a Headlamp oin my wishlist on AE today: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32966534576.html - that style is what I like - symetrical

You answered your own question brother.
You do not need to buy anything at this time.

There, just saved you $50.
That will be $10 please

What are they for??? If you are collecting and not being functional I like AA and AAA lights to leave around. Maybe a soldering station to mod them?

Lights aplenty.

I’m just a novice. Reduced them to 27 now
I reached the same point a while ago. NOT all lights.
but all My eyes could use in the price range
I am willing to put into this sport.

Hmm. Just one little/small. Astrolux AO1 maybe. just for my keyring.

Yea. I also now have around 12/14 of those bloody things.
They MORE addictive than the big ones I reckon…

Tyry one and see.
Just something different.

Everybody got BIG. Throwy.Spreaders.
They ten a penny.

Collecting and being functional
Most of my lights are ready to use with charged 18650 or 26650 in them. I already have enough AAA and AA lights - just ordered 14500’s just 2 days ago to make two of them brighter.
“sadly” I already have a soldering station, a lathe and a lot of accessories.

ALready have a Nitecore Tube on my car keys and a Nitecore TIP on my house key - that is enough for me since I very rarely use them anyways
I just ordered two headlamps:
Page Not Found - Aliexpress.com mainly for modding - would be nice to change out all the LEDs, the 12 3030’s with LM301b’s to boost the efficiency
Page Not Found - Aliexpress.com with the double LED - seems to be an OK light out of the box

So the urge to order more lamps has been enervated

Get a YLP Panda 2M CRI before. Better design, driver, LEDs, and quality.

Well.

Knives it is then.
They just as addictive. Specially when you elevate from folders to proper.
Fixed blades.

There’s some beautiful blades out there.
Factory. Custom and home made.
I stopped myself at 9. In those.

Japanese Kitchen knives a different story again. ($80ish to $6.000 apeice.)

I don’t have a recommendation for you, really. Especially since you said “…the urge to order more lamps has been enervated” already.

But, I feel like somebody ought to speak up for the FW3A. You said above:

but it is actually a bit different in a couple ways. First and foremost is the tail e-switch on the FW3A versus the side e-switch on the D4. Maybe that’s not enough for you. But for some people, the switch placement is a huge thing.

Anyway, if you do decide to get a headlight, I recommend the YLP Panda 3. The YLP Panda 2M CRI was mentioned also above, if you care a lot about high CRI. But I’ve not owned it, so I don’t know if it’s good.

Amutorch X9 is a fun light.

@Macka: I already had my knife-phase and have ~15 folding knifes laying around without use (except two, one in my rucksack and one in my car)

Those YLP Headlamps look very interesting!
I prefer the Panda 3 because I very often work on a short distance where the flood will become handy.
I think, I will pull the trigger on this one!

Thank you very much!

I’ve tried both the 3R and the 2M CRI and prefer the 2M. Mostly just for the nicer emitters, but I don’t have much use for the throwier beam either.

Drop the lumens, boost the CRI.
FireFlies ROT66 nichia 219B with D-C-fix for more flood.

L4M4.

Fair enuff. Just thought I’d suggest.

L4M4, I’m glad you’re going to be okay this time, but what about the NEXT time you’re Jonesing for a new light and there isn’t one you need? It seems now might be a good time to start working on your addiction recovery! :disappointed:

Well… I “rediscovered” M4DM4X’s Deals yesterday and bought me the Convoy M3 - it was just too cheap to not order it
And I guess, the blueish S11 will follow very soon.

I will wait with the YLP Pandas - first, I want to see with the cheap headlamps if I really have a use case for those.

So, OK, I am finished.
This went from “I don’t know what to buy” to 4 lights bought in 48 hours…

Two Headlights
Model 3 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32954745850.html
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32947438790.html (I am sure those 50.000 Lumens are real - easy to get my money back if I would be a person like that)

Convoy M3: Convoy M3 XHP70.2 4300LM Hohe Lumen-Taschenlampe Eingebauter Temperaturschutz P Sale - Banggood Deutschland-arrival notice-arrival notice
Convoy S11: Konvoi S11 18650/26650 Batterie Taschenlampe Aluminiumlegierung 4 Modi Tragbare Taschenlampe Sale - Banggood Deutschland sold out-arrival notice-arrival notice
Both with 5000K tint and bought via M4DM4X’s Coupons.

I am a bit thrilled for those Headlamps (especially, if the “50K” Lumens one can be modded with LM301b’s) and the M3 - the S11 will be like my other XHP50.2 lights, but the M3 is a smaller package like the JKK36 but the same LED. Will get hot pretty fast - but hey, I have a D4, so I am used to that

Still I will buy one of those Pandas if I utilize those headlamps more than I think right now.

So, thank you very much guys, i knew I could count on you

Could have bought that Zebralight SC700d for that money

Have fun with your lights
