What did you mod today?

I just looked on Waveform Lightings DUV page and yea, its just above the line. Looking at their graph, that’s pretty what they looked like to my eyes. Not Green or Rosy, but more of an orange tint, if that makes sense.

Mmm… maybe orange because is more 3500 and not very 4000. Not bad at all

KR4 from SW45 to 519A 5700K Dedomed… a little beast!

congrats

do you have any before and after data for
Tint DUV and output?

fwiw, the Opple 4 is now available

2 Thanks

Thank you so much! I think yes but I have to find screenshot of SW45. Asap I measure 519. For now I am so happy with this change.
Opple 4! Nice

@jon_slider Thanks for the heads up! Just ordered my V4. Sweeeeeeeeet

@Light_Veteran That came out very nice. Your Wire_Fu is greater than mine :ninja: How do you like the beam out of the KR4? I have a D4SV2 with 5700K DD and it is an awesome light.

I imagine Wire-Fu is like a Yoda? Thank you but it’s only practice and I do twice for a problem😅
I want to buy D4S with all 519 but in tint ramp and put starry/alley custom firmware.
Yes I like the beam of KR4 but with 10621 there are a little bit of external artefacts, but it s dedome.
But not bad at all

Reflashed my TS10 and SC21 Pro to make ramping reverse direction each time 1H is used, similar to the Nitecore D10 UI

major thanks to quahog for the customised Hex file, more info here

I really need to get one of those vises. It looks like it’d be quite handy.

They are

Its a reference to Kung-Fu. So basically, whatever skill you would be referring to followed by Fu.

there is one here:

Im not that impressed with it though, it is easy to lose the pins, and they dont hold the head of a light very securely. there is also not much clamping room between the jaws, for the way I used it to hold the programmer

you might consider a swivel vise instead:

or maybe one like this

although I have not tried them…

I currently have a vise nearly identical to this that I picked up for like $20 at Harbor Freight a while back. It doesn’t appear they carry that syle anymore. It works well, but I thought having the pins would be nice. I’m thinking I might drill some holes behind the jaws that I can stick some pins in.

I like so much😌

519! At 15000 lux opple give me 4000k and always 97 plus Cri

thanks, your dedomed 519a 5700k has a DUV of -0.0050 which I would enjoy… the sw45k probably had a lower DUV, but also lower output…

I just received some 5700K 519a and am looking forward to dedoming one to put into an SC21 Pro, my favorite little Anduril light.

enjoy!

I like the copper color but not the beat up look . On black lights that worn look seems more interesting to me . Maybe it’s the copper and grey vs the black and grey.
I give you credit for beating on a new light . I remember the joy of taking a serrated steak knife to a SK 68. That lovely sound of screeching nails on a chalkboard

If I remember correctly sw45 in the opple give 98 plus cri, so yes mines duv

Not so much a mod as an attempted repair:

My DW4 had an unlit aux LED, it worked when I received the light but guess it was just a bad solder joint.

Emailed Hank, “you can try to add some solder to the edge of the LED”

Easier said than done with these, how you guys do it I’ve no idea! Tips appreciated, I can barely see the pads and I consider my vision good.

Selected my finest iron tip, ended up popping the dome off, then think I shorted the LED (others didn’t light)… so just wiped the remains of the bad LED off the pad with a hot iron. I guess I’ll just have to put up with a missing aux led.

Seems like the switch is glued, so don’t think it’s possible for him to send me a new switch assembly.
