What happened to the Panasonic NCR18650G (Panasonic 3600mAH 18650)?

Selling a 3500mAh cell as 3600mAh is misleading, but if you look at the HKJ comparator (Evva 3600 18650B vs Evva 3500 18650GA), the extra capacity only exists at very slow current like 0.2A. At 2A or higher the 3500mAh is clearly better. I would say that for most applications the 18650G is obsoleted by the 18650GA.

Comparing the LG M36 vs. the LG MJ1 or the Sanyo GA , the M36 fares a bit better at low current (if you consider the best of the 2 tested cells), but still at over 1A the difference is gone.

+1

Between the popular B, PF, and GA, I doubt they may the G anymore unless they have a signed deal with some OEMs for that battery.

Thanks, I was not aware there were any 18650G tests out there. It seems even more overrated than GA. :person_facepalming:
I’m glad I didn’t find a good source…

Looks like 35E is the capacity leader.
