What light would Batman have?

Ive played with a few recoil throwers and I highly doubt this would work (I also doubt it would work with a regular reflector very well). The hot spot at the center of the beam is actually from the light that hits the outer edges of the reflector so in order to shape/block the center of the beam you’d have to actually block the outer parts / edges of the reflector in some strange shape.

Are you trying to make a negative or positive image (i.e. do you want light to only be projected in the shape of the batman symbol or do you want the bat symbol to be a dark spot)?

Traditionally, it is supposed to be negative, I.E. the bat image is the dark spot.

My first thought as well.

Well, clearly he must use a Convoy S2.

That might be a swisher sweets

Yes, actually. I have done this. It’s pretty easy. Print the image you want onto transparency paper, tape it to the bezel, and shine it through a magnifying glass. You could also put it behind the optics, but that results in a distorted image.

I do this when attending opening night on some popular movies. Like, I’m planning to project an image of Sauron’s eye before the final Hobbit movie.

I’ve never had a recoil myself so I guess my understanding of how they work isn’t quite right. I suppose Toykeeper’s idea is best, that way I can use any ol’ light and it will only be temporary.

Toykeeper - that sounds pretty funny, a bat light flying around before a bat movie or similarly the eye before the hobit movie 8)
