Got my NiteCore EA8 from buyincoins.com today. Yes, some of you may cringe at the fact about button issues with NiteCore EA4/8 (mostly read about them on the EA4), but I went ahead and ordered one. I’ve own two EA4s and have had no problems so far.
Just posting this since I was kind of disappointed in the way buyincoins packaged my order. They basically sent me the item stripped of any retail packaging. It looks like I got everything except the cardboard box. I only got the light in semi-rigid molded plastic that usually comes inside the retail box, manuals, and accessories. I guess they stripped out any unnecessary packaging to slim down the parcel then apply bubble wrap and then plastic envelope. Everything works fine, so I’m not to disappointed as the price was pretty good ($62.42 with coupon codes).
I’m pretty certain if I order anything else from there that I would encounter the same package trimming if my items are bulky. The only thing I’ve ordered from them before was a knife sharpening system; and as I remember it was basically packaged the same way. No box, just the item wrapped in bubble wrap and then inserted inside a plastic envelope. So they will trim away any excess bulk from your items.
How is it compared to EA4, much brighter?
No, not that much brighter, but you can tell it’s definitely brighter when you have them both side by side. What I like about the EA8 is the lower low mode and the extra battery capacity.

It’s okay build, nice tube, nice anodizement, nice regulated 5W driver. But hollow pill and no thermal paste, bad centered led and under driven(can be resistor modded).
All in all very good for the price I paid 0$. :bigsmile:

Firstly, the E12 (US candelabra) base bulb, which is standard in ceiling fan fixtures, has been discontinued since I ordered. The bulb I receive is actually an E14 which doesn't help me. I've escalated that to Fasttech support; we'll see if they will give me store credit because of the incorrect description.
The remaining three bulbs are all very nice, far nicer than any of the budget bulbs I purchased and reported on previously. I ordered all three in the cool-white tint as they were intended to be for utility lights, but the 5W was accidentally shipped in the warm tint. All three of these are very nice, and put out a lot of light. They are ones I could actually use to replace incan/CFL bulbs for normal use. The warm tint is very nice without the greenish cast of the typical generic warm egg-yolk emitters in my other LED bulbs. I'm really happy with light from these; I'm just hoping they will have a long lifespan. The tubes enclosing the LED arrays are actually glass, so these will be fragile.
The razor blades appear to be a decent copy; I was able to locate a typo on the side of the package (I doubt Gillette would accidentally print their product name as "ProGlisw"). I shaved with one last night though, and got good results. I'll have to use these for a while to see how long they last compared to my usual Mach3 disposable blades. Compared here with a genuine ProGlide Power blade (mouse over for the genuine blade):
