FMcamaro I just got my TN31 missed by TomE. It’s running IIRC 5.6A with dedomed xml2.
I decided since this is a light I’d actually be using I’d run it conservatively.
But it still is freaking intense.
This is a very impressive weapon light for $22 bucks and all metal construction. It blows away my $100 dollar 100 lumen Factory Glock light and my $300 dollar 100 lumen EOTech M6X TLI Tactical Laser Illuminator. I just need to torture test it with a couple hundred rounds of 45ACP and see if it holds up or self destructs.
I bought it to mod, but it works so good stock I left it alone. It fits my Glock 21 perfect and pulls 1.5 amps from an AW 16340 500 plus lumen with a blinding strobe plus it works with CR123s also.
I received my 10th Sipik SK68 type light yesterday. I consider it the best, because it has several of the features that are desirable. It has three modes with no mode memory, starts on high. The knurling is very good. The finish is excellent, except for a couple of tiny chips. The lens is larger than most and the throw narrower (longer focal length). The led is an XP-E and it says Q5 on one side. The output may be a little cooler and less bright than another one I have but not much. The other side says UltraFire.
It is from AliExpress / alibaba.com. The seller is Michael Blue. The description is “7w 300lm Mini Cree Q5 Led Flashlight Rechargeable Torch Adjustable Zoomable Focus Zoom Light Lamp 3 Mode ”. The price is US $6.54 including shipping, which I think is low for a three mode. It was shipped China Post “Air Mail” and reached me in California after 12 days.
After 20 days, I finally received my C12 XM-L2 U2 from AliExpress (DanceLite). It had a couple problems with the assembly but performance is good. The glass was too thin after I tightened down the pill so I’m using the one from a C8 (same thickness as my XinTD). The end cap didn’t have an o-ring because the inner diameter was too small but I found a thin o-ring and all is good. Maybe mine just missed that machining process so others might be okay. It tailstands and has a nice, soft tailcap button. It’s got memory but no low voltage protection (at least not above 2.5 volts when I just shut it down). The frequency on lower modes isn’t real high but probably not low enough to bother most people. All threads seem okay once cleaned.
The XinTD V3 U3 is the only thing I have that’s comparable and overall, the C12 is brighter with fresh cells then it eventually becomes only slightly dimmer. The color is warmer and the hot spot blends into the spill more seamlessly than XinTD. That might take away some throw but it’s a nicer looking pattern and better for most common tasks. The biggest difference is in cooling. On high, the XinTd gets hot easily so I placed it over the A/C vent and just laid the C12 on the bed to block cooling a little for comparison. Still, the C12 never got as hot.
The C12 is a couple mm shorter than the XinTD and weighs 22g less (154g vs 176g). Battery tube and tail on the XinTD is 25% heavier and the head 8%. My only complaint is it won’t fit a standard holster and some might like a longer grip but those are the trade-offs for better cooling.
I also received a DanceLite C8 XM-L2 which was disappointing. The star wasn’t sitting flat and the protruding button won’t allow it to tailstand.
Now there’s a 3-mode L2 U3 C12 which I just ordered. I hope the quality is at least as good.
Just got my Xtar H1 in the mail.
Ordered from MD-lightsource Xtar H1
Paid $47.70 shipped to Canada. Only took 6 days to get.
It really is a sweet looking light.
The matte finish is top quality
The clip is really strong.
Anodized threads, Locks out no problem
Machining is very well done. no sharp edges or dents
Threads are lubed and smooth
Head strap is comfortable
Sturdy tailstanding
The red cree led is really nice and easy to access with a double click.
Best of all in my opinion is I won the tint lottery. This matches my xpg2 2b tint p60 i built maybe even better. Just a sweet milky white beam
Haven’t had a chance to try it with a 14500 as my Xtars are still in the mail working their way to me lol.
Takes both nimh cells or 14500’s. Protected 14500 cells will not fit this headlamp so i had to order some 14500 xtar unprotected batteries of ebay.
Eneloops fit just fine. 1900mah or the 2400 mah.
This just shows the fit of a eneloop 2400 mah xx
