Everyones always posting photos of these monster sized lights, but never any outdoors, nighttime beam shots…where these things literally “shine”…lets see some beam shots folks!!

I’m planning on beam shots of 3 of my bigger lights, but due to the fact that it’s summer time (and really sunny weather for ages now), it takes a long time at night for it to get properly dark enough.

As far as I’m concerned summer should be over soon (since we are experiencing heat wave after heat wave here in western Europe) and we move on to some lovely autumn weather and earlier darkness in the evening!

I ordered (and recieved) new batteries (Molicel P26A) for the MF01 and while testing the light and shining it against the white ceiling, I noticed the pleasant neutral white color of the Nichia 219C LEDs and I started to wonder/think if these are actually high CRI LEDs; the manual didn’t mention them being high CRI.

So I grabbed my Opple LM4 and tested the MF01 on ‘Medium’ and ‘Medium 1’ mode.

Medium:

Medium 1:

As you can see it is around 4600K (nice!) and is 94/95 CRI on these (useful) modes. On medium (according to the manual ~700lm) it has a Duv of 0.0002.

In the back of my mind I was thinking of maybe switching out the LEDs in the future for SFT-25 ones, but now I experienced the lovely soft and floody, High CRI, beam of the MF01, I will absolutely keep the 219C’s!

I guess this would be related to this thread for what I’m mostly going to be using it for - area lighting with the Q8+ or LT1 (when I get it working).

Received a cheap and inexpensive camera tripod won from ebay auction. $1.50 and I didn’t expect to win at that.
