It is precisely that stonewashed patina I want!
Interesting thread to revive. Titanium rod is NOT that expensive if you do some web searching. I have made myself quite a bit of titanium body jewelry and think that the price of a lot of titanium flashlights is ridiculous, particularly those limited production ones from makers like Jetbeam and Sunwayman. No need for the prices they charge but they get it. True customs are another matter. Those makers get what the market is willing to pay for true custom work.
It also has lousy heat conductivity so is actually a poor choice for flashlights if their output is substantial at all. Even stainless steel is a much better heat conductor than titanium.
I think a more pressing question is: Does your titanium flashlight match your (Ti) watch? ![]()
My Citizen Ti Solar has a blue face, my Texas Poker has blue anodized accents. ![]()
And FWIW, my little 3” Texas Poker running an Efest IMR10440 makes 921 lumens on a fresh charge. With 5 levels, optimizing run time is a matter of selecting the right mode for the occasion.
