One of the local places did in a bunch of folks several years back.
Traced it back to the salad bar.
What about On-Cor frozen food, you get like 5lbs of beef or chicken for $4.

Going to dinner tonight – 22oz Bone In Ribeye $85 ala carte — Luckily my wife just has a couple ounces of mine — Casino Comps are wonderful
We all justify one way or the other ------ LOL
Most expensive was under $20.
I’ve gotten food poisoning from micky D’s once and 2 different domino’s pizzas. The pizzas wasn’t even in the same state. Those 3 times are prolly the most I’ve paid for a meal.
The most expensive meal that I’ve had that I’ve paid for with my own money would probably be at Olive Garden or Cheesecake Factory.
I think I’ve spent about $30 for a meal at each place.
Now you are talking my price range… ![]()
Homer Simpson drooling sound…
Screw the meal, let me at the desserts case.
There is a little town in West Texas - Coyanosa
Few hundred people at the best of times.
Just north is a road side melon stand. Used to be just one Hispanic lady. Bigger now.
They sell Pecos Cantaloupes and other melons.
Until you have had one, you won’t believe the difference.
Mrs. Jeff used to drive by there fairly often. When in season would always bring home as many as we thought we could eat or give away.
Never found anything that even came close.
All the Best,
Jeff
Did you ever spend $1250 on melons…??
I mean, it is only one dinner’s worth… ![]()
…at a topless restaurant.

How many dollar bills did you end up spending.
My max wasn’t that much. I once lost a bet and bought dinner at El Gaucho steakhouse. The bill without tip for 6 was just under a thousand dollars. The funny part was that after the dinner was over, when I came back from the restroom there was a large bowl of fruit on the table. I looked at it quizzically as we were all stuffed and ready to roll, the bet winner looks at me and says with a smirk, “the waiter said they had a fruit bowl special for $75 so I said bring it.” He was expecting me to choke but before I could, he says: “just kidding, it was complimentary”. LOL
About a half dozen years ago, had steaks at Pittsburg Blue. Started with onion rings and chicken wings. Added mushrooms and green beans and loaded mashed potatoes. With a few drinks it was over $100.00 per person. I remember it because the “chef” came out when we told the server as soon as we saw our steaks, that they were all cooked “Pittsburgh Blue”. That was not how we ordered them. The “chef” gave us the old, “That’s how we do it here, nothing I can do for you.”. Expensive does not mean quality.
Had to goggle that. Basically charred to ashes on the exterior, and almost raw in the middle.
That’s how they actually did it, but you wanted something different, or that’s what you wanted but they did something different?
We wanted medium well and got Pittsburgh Blue.
That would have to be a halibut steak. Cost me $2,500 to catch the damn thing, and I had to fry it myself.
It was good, though…
When a chef / server pulls that - I ask them:
“Are you paying for this?”
“If not, cook it the way I want it”
All the Best,
Jeff
