What's your favorite protected 18650 battery?

Hey everyone! It’s been a long time since I’ve browsed these forums but my light collection is beginning to grow again. I’m looking to replace my old KeepPower 2600mah 18650 batteries.

I have a variety of lights but mostly Fenix headlamps and Fenix 1500+ lumen lights. I also purchased the BLF Q8 light that I am really excited to try out.

I am looking for a quality/protected 18650 battery that has has a fairly flat discharge curve. The discharge curve on my Sanyo 2600mah celled batteries is what I prefer. I’m just curious if there are options out there with better performance or run time than what I currently have?

Good old Panasonic protected 3400mAh NCR18650B are my ‘safe and high capacity’ cells of choice when i gift a light. A tad large - may be a tight fit sometime. They go on sale for a good price quite often.

Samsung 3500mAh 18650 35E is a newer option with decent current capabilities but harder to find both protected and button top.

Keeppower protected 3120 (Sanyo VTC6) and 3000 (Samsung 30Q). More capacity than the old school Sanyo 2600 (which I still use), and much more powerful (high Amp) with the latest high efficiency protection circuit.

I generally don’t run protected cells anymore except with the most braindead drivers, but when I do, it’s a panny-B.

There are quite some high discharge protected cells with not much additional resistance, from Klarus, Olight and other manufactories
