Which movie did you watch lastֻ

Speaking of facial fillers, I had a crush on Courteney Cox for decades…
until she got a bunch of facial fillers, and now she doesn’t look so hot.
It’s a real shame because I think that she was a natural beauty until this poor choice. :dancer:

Yea I saw that too. Waaaaay too much was done to her face. If I paid money and my face looked like that afterwards I would sue! I can’t believe celebs are happy with these services.

Simon Cowell’s face is fantastically screwed up too. Dude looks like a melting ice cream cone!

That’s why I like the local CBS news. Hot newswomen who are actually aging beautifully, even showing some wrinkles when they smile, and I hope to B’harni (pbuh!) they never do anything to “fix” it.

I up the ante with Carrot Top

White House Down(2013)

I saw Olympus Has Fallen years ago and just yesterday watched this movie. Idk which is technically the knockoff, but I think WHD is worse overall. For action, Butler > Tatum. And the script for WHD was just awful at times. WHD has some great concepts that are overshadowed by bad writing, stuntwork, and casting. To really appreciate WHD I’d need to be absolutely sloshed.

Loved it. Statham is a character actor natural. Of all the hardass martial arts actors out there, he’s my favorite. He can turn a suck plot or bad screenplay into riveting cinema with his rock steady demeanor and projection. And the man doesn’t seem to age.

Handsome Rob

Skin Trade.

Avoid at all costs. I was hoping for a ‘so bad it’s good’ experience, but it’s just bad.

@TIFisher Stathem usually plays the same type of character, but he is such a believable badass that it doesn’t even matter. I haven’t seen Beekeeper yet but I will. An acquaintance said it was awful but I’ll give any Stathem movie a chance.

BTW anyone here see In The Name of the King? Now that was a movie Stathem couldn’t save.

Too many bad movies are self-serious. Also, some writers seem to give up when they realize they are making a goofy movie–they stop thinking about whether or not a line makes sense for someone to say. An example I watched recently is White House Down. That movie comes close to being so bad it’s good. But it isn’t tongue in cheek enough when it should be and some of the dialogue is just head-scratchingly bad.

I like Jason Statham as an action star/actor.
I should watch more of his movies. :+1:

I watched Matrix Resurrections (part 4) … and I regret it intensely.
If you think Matrix 2 and 3 did not live up to part 1 … that’s right. But at least these were watchable, just not very good movies.
Part 4 was just plain unbearable: bad story, a huge part of it just reminiscing over part 1 and not even the action was good.

Avoid at all costs.

Good one, 8/10

Not as bad as I thought it gonna be. 6.8/10

Very nice and entertaining 90’s action flick. 7/10

I saw Abigail (2024).

This movie is great.
The beginning of the movie borrows a lot of elements from Reservoir Dogs (1992).
Then, eventually, the film becomes a horror movie.
The acting is really good for a horror film.
The music is excellent.
This movie isn’t nearly as good as Reservoir Dogs, but it’s still a great horror movie.
Also, this movie is quite bloody and gory.
One of the keywords on IMDb for this movie is a major spoiler.
The keyword was visible earlier today, but now it’s not, which is weird.
Even if you read the spoiler keyword, you can still enjoy this movie (if you like this type of movie), but I think the keyword gives too much away.
The movie’s biggest weak point is the plot.
The plot is decent, but it kinda seems like the plot was quickly thrown together without a lot of deep thought.
If you like violent horror movies, check it out.

I saw Police Story: Lockdown (2013).

This movie is okay.
I saw a dubbed version, and the voice acting is decent.
The music is pretty great.
The action sequences are terrible for a Jackie Chan movie.
There are far too many close-ups, which I can’t stand for action scenes.
Also, the movie has an average of about one cut per second, which is extremely high.
Many of the cuts are jarring so I would call the movie over-edited.
The movie has a nice plot, and the drama is quite good.
It’s pretty rare when a Jackie Chan movie is more successful as a drama than as an action film, but that’s the case with this one.
The beginning and middle of the movie isn’t all that great, but the last thirty minutes or so are quite good.
The movie grew on me as time passed.
Although I’m glad that I watched this movie, I cannot recommend it because it has too many flaws.
I give the movie a PG-13 rating for violence and a bit of swearing.

it was ok for a free movie.
i would not have paid to see it.
might be a sequel, though.
here is the plot…

Lake Placid: Legacy (2018)

So bad I couldn’t finish it. Usually I am OK with low budget “monster” movies but not this one. It was like watching someone play a terrible video game. The first couple Lake Placid movies were worth the time though.

New teevee, might as well put it to use, so caught a coupla movies on MyMe.

First was a rerun of “The Lincoln Lawyer” with Matthew McConaughey in the title role. Cool flick, lots of twists’n’turns. Saw it ages ago, liked it back then. Caught a recent rerun, at least the last half-hour or so. Was on today, so made sure to “watch” it as best I could. Feeding time at the zoo, so missed pieces here and there.

Was almost disconcerting to see William H Macy ( Mr Clean-Cut in “Fargo”) looking like a long-haired blonde hippie with a pornstache, almost like a very aged David Spade. :joy:

Next was “Safe” with Jason Statham. So many dizzying twists that I got lost a few times, but I think I figured it out. Had Robert John Burke, who played a crooked cop here just as he did in “Person Of Interest”. Always a welcome sight in any flick.

Never heard of “Safe” before, wasn’t even planning on watching it, but it instantly got my attention. Glad I did. Lot of questions that even one of the badguys asked, don’t think he gave a plausible reason, so yeah, there was a bit of brain-tickle that lasted throughout.

Mostly Manhattan, but still good to see familiar NYC sights.

Caught TZ right after, and “Two” was on today!

Elizabeth Montgomery was always so stunningly beautiful, even covered in post-apocalyptic dirt and grime. Gawd…

Great to see a young Charles Bronson, too! No tunnels, though…

I have read a theory that Lana Wachowski really didn’t want The Matrix to be revisited but studios were calling for it so she decided to drive a stake through its heart herself. I’ve not even been able to bring myself to watch it yet having not read one single good review.

The first film was amazing and is one of my favourites, two and three were weak in comparison.
