i have both lights - but only one BLFDD17 and a dedomed XM-L2 U2 on Copper to play with.
which light is better to receive them?
or: which one is better to be pushed with stock components
(playing with sense resistors, maybe improving heatsink, i would also dedome the Led, but stay on aluminium)
notice to myselve: get some DTP boards and start reflowing!

Better spot, less spill, more throw, better heat management, … ?
I personal would go for the courui - because it has some heatsinking. THe 1405 has - as almost all zoom lights - no proper heatsinking. If you will drive that XM-L with that driver, you will need a good heatsink.
I want a “white laser” with as less spill as possible…
