Definitely type-c on the angle. I do like the HD15 in 4000k. Especially the wide flood. A smaller version (HD14?) might be useful for some things when short use periods are expected . I would never rely on it as my only light. So I don’t think it needs to have a spot to see great distances. How about two wide floods. One warm somewhere around 2700 or 3000K and one GREEN for times when flying insects are a problem. Or other animal related issues. Or on very low green modes for preserving night vision. I’ve tried red and it works to not attract some bugs, but I really dislike walking with red even if it’s bright. Identifying objects and depth perception is just terrible.
Thank you guys for your suggestions. I am reading carefully now and let’s working together to make the most suitable choice
Aha, that is a point , i remember the post, thank you, will feedback to the engineer
Anything without usb is a good move
I prefer USB. It’s not like I’m going snorkeling with these lights anyway. And before anyone says anything I live in coastal SouthEast Asia where we have literal typhoons half the year, and I’ve never had issues with water ingress on Sofirn/Wurkkos USB built-in flashlights.
That being said, I much prefer dual-fuel (AA+14500 support) over USB port if I had to choose.
I probably say use LH351D/Nichia 519a. No need for 2nd emitter.
Keep it dual-chemistry AA/14500. No need for charging port because 14500 and AA compatible. People will usually have spare batteries or can swap AA in emergency.
If you want 2 emitter, then red light is more useful than UV.
Magnetic tail option.
Anduril 2.
And please make it available with several paint color.
Very Nice!
Wurkkos is really stepping up its game lately
Since you’re open to suggestions maybe a slimmer inspection type light
I love the 2XAA design but they’re a little too big for my use , is it possible to make a High CRI single or double AAA ? One that can take the abuse of ethanol cleaning for health workers?
Thanks again for listening the community
Main LED a neutral (4000-4500K), high cri, on or below the BBL curve thing.
Secondary LED: Warm white, 2700K, negative duv, high CRI.
OR, go mad and find a good RGBW emitter, and work out how to make a decent UI that allows selection of channel, brightness, colour…
There are barely any good 14500 headlamps available at the moment, so as long as the emitters are good, USB-C charging or not doesn’t really matter that much.
UV in a headlamp is no good, in my opinion. You could still make a UV light, but the required visible light filter is patented in the US.
+1 for USB-C, even if it means losing AA compatibility. Also, please please PLEASE Anduril and with easily accessible flashing pads like the awesome TS10 and FC13.
Thanks @Wurkkos for listening to us – this is one more reason why I really love your products, I have just a couple of lights but two of them are Wurkkoses – the only light manufacturer I’ve bought from more than once, and I plan to buy a few more at least.
Re: USB port vs AA compatibility for the new light – you might be interested in this poll I put up on r/flashlight just for that, both the results and the comments might be useful to you: https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/146wwnp/poll_whats_your_preference_re_battery/
Love it but would like to know what the white emitter is and if there will be a version with a red emitter instead of uv?
@Wurkkos The right angle lights look great! I’m looking forward to these.
As for the hand-held lights, are they tail-switch or side-switch lights?
If they are side-switch lights, I would recommend making sure that the side switch is very easy to find in the dark. If the gray circle on the hand-held lights is the side switch, I think it will be difficult to find in the dark. Additionally, there should be some recess for a side-switch so that the light does not accidentally turn on in your bag or pocket.
Other than that, I think they are nice designs and I’m looking forward to adding them to my collection
@Wurkkos
Indeed, PLEASE, a rubberized or at the least textured switch!
I Love my SP10 Pro from the sister company Sofirn, but the switch is so small and glassy smooth, I can’t tell it by feel in the daylight, let alone in the dark.
The switch on the SP10 Pro is EXACTLY what I was thinking about when I saw the switch on these new Wurkkos designs.
Oh and while we’re on pet peeves, please if you do magnetic tail caps, please do so with a magnet AND the lanyard hole.
Either/or is getting really annoying. Not all of us use pocket clips to carry a light, and a tether attachment is Golden. But then eliminating it for the magnet, gains utility in use but ruins any way of carrying the light in the first place.
Thank you for listening, and even, a great thanks that you even ask for our input!!
I keep debating whether I want to try taking mine apart to see about replacing that button with something 3D printed GITD with a texture on it… Have yet to convince myself its worth the risk.
@Wurkkos
RE: Headlamp:
Please keep the USB-C port!
This would make it the first usable 14500 light with standard USB-C charging. If you then get the rest right, it will be a very giftable light that sells well - essentially a D2 with USB-C.
Further, Andruil 2 would be much welcome!
Other preferences:
- Spot: 519a 4500k, throwy clear TIR 15°
- Flood: 519a 2700k dedomed, floody beaded TIR 60°
- bundle with Spicy3D type headband/holder
- efficient buck driver
- no AA support
- easy to mod
RE: Regular straight light:
I would only buy it if it has both Andruil 2 and a USB-C port, as there are nicer options withouth both those.
Further wishes:
- single cell design.
- make it smaller
- use 519a
- use a TIR with selectable throw/flood option
- make it easy to mod
- agree on switch - make it easy to locate by touch.
RE: TS10
Why not add USB-C? I would buy at least ten more as gifts.
RE: TS10 right-angle concept:
I would love to see the concept of a hotrod 14500 right angle light become reality. Please keep Andruil2 and add a USB-C port.
I think I read about someone gluing some skateboard griptape on the switch which allowed them to find it by feel
Yeah, I had something called cat tongue on mine for a while, kinda a rubberized antislip stuff made to keep your phone from sliding off things. Worked great, but came off somewhere this spring.
But thats way too practical of a solution… I don’t get to take anthing apart that way. Or bitch and moan at the manufacturer lol.
I made an account purely to comment on this because I am so excited. I LOVE the HD15 and I carry it literally everyday. However for warmer shorts weather, a smaller similar light would be ideal.
That being said, the reason I love it is the combination flood spot optics. Switching the smaller version to uv seems like a very special use case. I also think in today’s world finding a power plug, power bank or other charging means is honestly more convenient and easy than working with AAs. I would also fear dual fuel would make it less likely to include a battery voltage indication which I find very useful.
In short:
Flood and spot optics
USB port
Include a power level aux light
