XP-G2 Copper pill P60. Night shots added. Med & low added.

Thanks. First place finish on these!

Oh, this is exciting… Thanks MRsDNF!

Thanks, Great beam shots and a nice setting you have there MRsDNF.
Really nice throw from the XP-G2 & P60 reflector.
I’m wondering what the consistency is on these reflectors….
If I order 5 of them, what % would shoot a beam like that?
Are the SMO from CNQG comparable?
I will be putting together some XP-G2 P60 when I can some neutral, …it would be ideal if I could get a beam like that.

I'm not sure what the consistency would be as I have only ordered one for the XP-G. You would like to think that they would all be the same. I have ordered two for XM-L's and they are both the same. E1320 may know more on this.

Low and medium night shots have been added to the first post.

@MRsDNF: Very impressive! I love your copper pill! With what size copper pipe you do start with?

@Everyone: What is the die diameter of the new XP-G2? The XML is 2mm x 2mm, right?

:open_mouth: Cree XP-G2 3.45 x 3.45mm

Cree XM-L 5 x 5mm

The XM-L is 5*5mm, but the die size is 2*2mm.

scaru —- it’s too late for me to be posting. Time to retire. Thanks :weary:

Can't blame ya, I've made the same mistake a number of times. Good night. :)

Are there any updates on this Mod? I’m impressed with the work done on these mods. As a newbie I have come to realize that those who Mod like the challenge as much as the results.

I have been looking online for two drop-ins for my SolarForce P60’s or should I call them P30 and P90?? Not sure I understand the terms yet. I am assembling two lights each in need of an inexpensive drop-in. The first is an L2M Mini that holds 1 CR123/RCR123. In this I would like a low voltage XP-G2 with a smooth reflector to throw as much light as possible on a single CR123. Right now the standard for this for me is the SolarForce Z-1 which has a XP-G2 and is quite bright for the small size of flashlight.

On the other end I am assembling a high voltage 3 CR123/RCR123 L2P which is in need of either a XM-L2 or MT-G2 (not sure if the MT-G2 is too much for a P60 head) to take advantage of the 3 or 4 CR123 batteries. Neither of these two drop-ins seems to exist at this point. Which gave me the thought that as much as you all enjoy the modding, what we really need is for one of you to invent the amatuer proof drop in.

Simply a pill that allows the LED and the Driver to be “snapped” in without soldering, so people can easily swap parts and pieces easily. The rails that hold the parts in would carry the current and so one could buy different drivers and swap them with a single LED or vise versa. Who ever invents this will open up the world of modding to the masses as well as make a boat load of money. Any inventors out there?

For updates you will have to ask 18sixfifty. Thanks for taking an interest.
