Does anyone know of a good source for the 3535 Cyan emitters? I’ve not been able to find them through any of the normal vendors. I’ve found several options on eBay, but they are only available in lots of 10+, and I only want 2-3 to play with.
I assume that you want a lot of output? The Luxeon stuff is probably the way to go. Nothing relevant is directly footprint-compatible with Cree XP-series LEDs AFAIK, but the color Cyan is available. The Luxeon Rebel Color series and the Luxeon Z series are what springs to mind. Rebels have Sinkpads available and feature a thermal pad. Luxeon Z doesn’t have a thermal pad, it’s similar to the Cree XQ-series in that respect.
It is a coincidence that you ask this now: I just bought a 5-pack of ProLight Opto (Taiwanese company) 3535 cyan leds at rs-online (the picture on the website incorrectly shows a die with phosfor layer), and I did a brief output test on a Noctigon as well that I will post one of these days. It performs really well, not significantly worse than the Rebel or Luxeon Z. I got 214 lumen at 2A, and the led still does not blow at 4A.
I could put one in an envelope for you if you like?
