Got mine this weekend and couldn’t find my 16340 cells :-/
I like the looks and size might be my new EDC.
The Wk42 is now my first EDC light. never have edc’ed a light before now. This thing is an excellent light. Due to the size and weight you forget you even have it in your pocket. Now the question is do i still get the Olight S1 as well……hmmmm.
Ordered a WK42 and a WK21 from this seller. The listing for the WK21 stated it was a 2 mode light. When I asked about this, they said that the reason they claim only 2 modes is to not let the customer down when using a CR123 and some modes are lost due to power.
Upon receiving the WK21, I noticed it has already been soldered to where it only has low and high. I feel like I was lied to. Awaiting response from the seller.
The ad description was very clear it is the two mode only version. The two mode version is much cheaper than the five mode version and more useable, IMO. If you want to customize the settings, you can resolder as per the detailed instructions in the manual. Or you can send it back and buy the more expensive version.
I like the CR123 comptability although 16340s will deliver more juice.
Description did say it had 2 modes, but, when I asked the seller, they said it has 5 modes. And that they listed it as 2 modes because of different power levels of the CR123 and the 16340.
We’ve sent about 3-5 messages back and forth before I made the purchase and they never once mentioned that it was pre soldered with only 2 modes. I would unsolder the connections but I don’t own a pen. I’m very new to flashlights.

We advertise it as 2 modes for we think it’s our former products and due to capacity of batteries, the high mode can only run about half and hour. In order not to disappoint our good buyers as you who may have a high expectation for its long run time of high mode, we describe it as 2 modes as a modest claim. We sincerely hope to have your kind understanding and apologize again.

VERY small
reliable
mine had sort of a banding to the color though, yellow and purplish regions
the UI will probably get old, especially if you also want to EDC another light that is opposite (also very common)
i hate having to do a long press to turn it off
and having to NOT CLICK TOO FAST to go to next brightness level (or it will start @#$ing blinking)

I guess I “read” the instructions too fast…I’ve been carrying one of these for months and I didn’t even know it had a blinky mode.
I don’t understand why would Chinese company ship only to USA?

WK42 is an awesome little light. Very small and lightweight with great ergonomics. Feels great in the hand.
I replaced the guts on mine. It’s currently sporting a BLF17DD FET driver with moppydrv firmware and a Nichia 219C on Noctigon. I run it on an Efest IMR 16340. Output, tint and UI are much improved.

Just bumping this older thread because the price has dropped to $9.60 for the WK42 and $8.50 for WK21 (US only). Shipping is $2.60 or free if you spend $29 @ their eBay store.
These are both worth much more than this price so obviously worth the bump. I already have multiples of each and I’m still tempted to pick up more.
