This sucks ..LG. I have a 7 year old LG OLED. It still works great. I have avoided the latest update that implements some of this stuff⌠But get nagged every time I start the thing. I should probably just disconnect it from the internet. I donât use any of the APPs anyway.

âSmart,â internet-connected devices are supposed to help their owners. All to frequently, however, they are being used as tools to collect user data.
My sister recently installed a smart garage door opener, and was shocked to learn that its phone app wanted permission to access just about everything on her phone: photos, contacts, calendar, messages, location, everything.
Microsoft has worked hard to create trust for its automatic Windows Update feature, but now it has allowed LG to abuse it. Rather than updating critical drivers for an LG monitor, the video argues that LG is using Windows Update to install bloatware & malware, some of which is designed to harvest user data.
Installing Windows Updates has been one of the best ways to protect against computer viruses. If Microsoft turns public opinion against it, by giving users good reasons to disable it, we will all suffer.
