Advantages:

  • Twistie switch has a magnet
  • HAIII hard-anodized

  • Side switch or tail switch, no twistie only switches
  • Removable pocket clip
  • Reversible pocket clip like the Lumintop Tool
  • Has keychain holes
  • Tailstands if using a side switch or twisty switch
  • If using an electronic switch, has extremely low parasitic drain
  • Low-Medium-High modes
  • Good mode spacing, example: 3lm -> 20lm -> max output
  • An included diffuser wand would be nice

Astrolux A01. Even in the new version it can’t be beaten for price/quality ratio.

I gave seven purple ones (still Nichia) to a small class of students of mine as a Christmas gift. They became hysterical for joy. Obviously, gave it at end of class, luckily.
