Recently placed two small orders with GearBest (before I was aware of this thread).

Used PayPal for payment, and selected Insurance for the orders, just in case.

Both orders were shipped about one day after placing orders.

First order received 11 days after shipping. Second order received 15 days after shipping.

Both items received in excellent condition, and were packaged in bubble envelopes. Only extremely minor issue was the "Delivery List" included with the second order was apparently "rammed" into to the shipping envelope, the list was severely crumpled up. Just folding the list once would have made putting it into the envelope easier and without it being crumpled.

Overall a very good experience.

However. Based on previous comments here in this thread, it seems that there may be some difficulty regarding warranty claims and in receiving ordered items in the event wrong items were sent initially by Gear Best. So I'm reluctant to order larger (and more expensive) items (such as chargers) in the event of item becoming (or received as) faulty and having to make a warranty claim or having to request right item be shipped instead of what was received. I don't want to have to go through the apparent tedious process of providing this, that and other details, exchanging numerous emails, and perhaps waiting for months for any resolution.

The two small items I ordered are unlikely to require a warranty claim due to their simplicity and good quality build.

Cheap/small items will probably be ordered now and then, but more expensive items will probably not be ordered (at least for the time being).

I placed an order with GearBest mid morning 12 January. The order contained no big ticket items, an $11 Convoy S2 was the most expensive; the rest was just a bunch of misc. small items. Totaled around $75 best I remember.

Somehow it qualified for free shipping using DHL, I do not know how; but I chose it. :+1:
This order was shipped from China also, NOT the US Warehouse.

Anyway, DHL got the package very late afternoon 14 January. I received the package today, 16 January at lunch time; in North Alabama!!! :open_mouth:

Soooooooooooā€¦ā€¦ about 44 hours after DHL picked it up in China, I had it in North Alabama, USA!!!
Plus, today is a Federal Holiday in the USA.

The ā€œstars must have lined up rightā€ for this oneā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ I still canā€™t get over it.

I have bought a lot of electronics from gearbest including a cheap $60 garmin, a dashcam, several flashlights. Not one issue with any of these 40+ orders. I no longer buy batteries from GB, shipping cancels all savings out. I use IMR, illumin, or mtn. electronics.

Yeah, I had one part of an order doing its Flat Stanley impersonation through the Land Of Tulips, too.

Finally got notice that itā€™s here in the States, so another day or two and I should have it in my grubby little hands.

Ordered a Nitecore Tip Winter Edition, never received it. I have hard evidence that the item was not delivered to my intended address but Gearbest support is adamant that the item was delivered. I actually paid extra for the priority shipping/tracking, however, as I did not insure the item Iā€™ve been told by their support that there would be no refund or any compensation. Currently escalating my case with their support. Hoping I reach a resolution with them soon. Meanwhile I canā€™t and would not recommend them. Iā€™ll provide updates when they get back to me.

Another great experience for me with GearBest. 7 days from the time the order was placed to when I had it in my grubby little hands.
Thanks GearBest, keep up the good workā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ :+1:

Well I hope I should be as lucky !

Mi7 clip order placed Jan 12. ā€¦ who knows?

UT01 order placed Jan21ā€¦today tracking sez is wating for plane. I paid 2 bucks and change extra for USA Priority. Tracking sez its First Class. :person_facepalming:

Although i do reviews for Gearbest usually they just okay shipping prices are a tad high for express. With shipping to Australia Fasttech is the best! But you cant beat Gearbest prices! I bought 8 26650s and paid like 15USD to send here. 15 days later after my order was already shipped i get an email saying your order has shipped again? Apparently shipping got canceled by the company i paid i 15USD to ship with so now they sent them through Netherlands post. (no option at the time) It was still cheaper to buy from Gearbest of course. I do not mind waiting but the shipping was expensive. Usually Netherlands post is free so why did i pay 15USD? Not really angry because i know its hard to ship batteries. But yea

No concessions for me lol! I usually have okay shipping times the knives i order at the same time came in about 21 days so about 3 weeks and that was over the Christmas period. Free shipping or course!

Your light gets to fly better then me :stuck_out_tongue:

Itā€™s kinda like walking through a nice scenic parkā€¦ with landmines.

Most of the time, things go wonderfully, and you make multiple trips through there and enjoy the scenery. But every now and again, you step on a landmine and things go boom.

I had a big order (in number, ie, lots of little crap), and there was one small item missing. Teeny envelope, barely larger than a sugar-packet, comparing to the one I did get.

First, Iā€™m asked to snap pix of the package front and back, and all the goodies that came in there, and open up a claim with the carrier. The package was sealed and mummified in about a half-pound of clear packing tape, so nothing fell out. Claiming damage with the carrier sounded dishonest (umm, still does), so I balked. Then I was told to choose whether to have the doodad mailed to me, get GB-points for the amount, or get refunded the price. Figured Iā€™d be nice and let them just refund the price, as remailing it would cost more than the doodad was worth.

Hereā€™s where it gets funny. The one I did get was 75Ā¢. The one that was missing was 73Ā¢. Iā€™m told Iā€™d get refunded only 66Ā¢ because thatā€™s all I paid for it.

Huh?

I asked what that was about, as again, I paid 73Ā¢ for the one thatā€™s missing. I get essentially a repeated, ā€œOh, youā€™re getting 66Ā¢ because thatā€™s what you paid for it.ā€, as if maybe Iā€™ll understand it this time if I hear it again.

I send screencaps of the order, with identifying info (order number at the top and total at the bottom), showing the 75Ā¢ for one and 73Ā¢ for the missing one (ie, neither one is close to 66Ā¢). Iā€™m not going to make a stink over 7Ā¢, but Iā€™d really just like to know how they came to the conclusion I only paid 66Ā¢ for it. Still no answer, and I kinda doubt one is forthcoming.

Seriously, I even debated whether or no to even open up a ticket grexing about one crappy little part that was missing, but figured wotdahell, why not? Ughā€¦

Itā€™s stoopit little things like this that can just leave that bad taste in your mouth, yā€™know?

I have an undelivered flashlight from gearbest and itā€™s been 46 day as of to date since I ordered a flashlight from them (december 10), unregistered parcel, but i ticked the insurance option. it was shipped on december 15. the provided tracking number of the shipper (Netherlands Post / sky56) I already filed a ticket on gearbest and they replied to me that my order will expire on February 10 and I should wait for it to expire before I notify them regarding the status of my order wether delivered or undelivered.

Should I really wait the February 10 expiration of my order before I make any action (i.e. Paypal dispute) ? That is exactly 60 days since I ordered the item.

Does anyone have the same experience here with gearbest? I need advice please. thank you!

I had heaps of packages from late November to early December and I have received none some thing went wring with shipping around then. First time itā€™s happen to me. 4 different vendors and no delivery.

Iā€™ve unsubscribed from Gearbest email spam four or five times in the last few weeks.
I wish they knew how to stop doing that.

Same problem here. I think I have unsubscribed about a dozen times (literally) after receiving spam over and over again. However, I havenā€™t received anything in like a month or so from themā€¦ Maybe Iā€™m really unsubscribed nowā€¦

Seems like Gearbest has taken over my Firefox. Almost every site I visit now, that never had a sidebar ad for gearbest, or any other ad, now sports some product from Gearbest I had once looked at or purchased at one time. Theyā€™re not pop ups, but integrated into the page/sidebar. I thought amazon was bad, but they are amateurs compared to GB.

Also been waiting on 2 orders from gearbest for what seems like an eternity. Probably will do a paypal dispute this week if they donā€™t arrive. Tracking says the packages have been in the USA for 3 weeks or more.

Beginning to think this slow boat from China shipping to save a few $ is not worth it. A order from MNT takes just a few days to arrive and thinking its probably worth the few extra $ to stay in the USA instead of months of waiting for shipments that never arrive, or arrive extremely late.

If youā€™re in Alaska during the months of dark days of winter, hoping to order a flashlight from GB to help with the constant darkness, donā€™t bother. It probably wonā€™t get to you in timeā€¦

With each purchase, GearBest has a review area. One, reviewing for their service as the seller, Two, reviewing the product purchased.

When I receive my shipment, I leave my comments based on their part (shipping, handling, etc) of the purchase.

After having the light(s) in my possession a fair amount of time, I'll leave my review of the product.

With each order, points are received that can be used on a future purchase, for a little discount. The more you order in succession, the more points you gain. Alright.

Now, for each purchase I place, I get points. For each review I post, I get points. If my review has pictures or video, I get points. All these points I've acquired from all my purchases, add up to a nice little discount, if you save them a while. Building up the points gives me the incentive to add more. If I build up enough, I can get a product for free. Or so it seems.

In my reality, I have $30 worth of points that I have built up. I've been eyeing a particular flashlight, and my goal is to use my points, to get the light for free. It doesn't happen that way, because GB regulates the amount of points that can be used, to 30% of product cost, total. Why?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

What do you think about this?

My multiple experiences with GearBest over the past 13 months have all been stellar for the most partā€¦ā€¦ I have no complaints.

In fact, I had a DOA Convoy L6 the very first order I placed with them. I contacted them and the problem was resolved immediately.

I asked them to send another light but they said it was out of stock so they said they would rather issue a refund. I said OK and they did so immediately.

When the light was back in stock I reordered. :+1:

That is my experience with GearBestā€¦ā€¦. all excellent spanning 35 to 40 orders with them over the last 13 months.

Iā€™m sure itā€™s because they donā€™t want to loose too much money. Letā€™s say they sell an item for $90 that costs them $80 and you have $90 in points:

If they sell the item for cash, they make a $10 profit.
If they gave you the item in exchange for points, they suffer a $80 loss on that particular sale.
If they sell you three of the item for your points plus $180, then they only loose $60 on that particular sale.

I think itā€™s a great system. Surely they still want you to spend some money, which I think is fair. I believe these GB points cannot be combined with discount codes. The best way to get maximum discount is to use them on flash sale products. An example; the Skilhunt H15 on flash sale was $25, which already is a great price. You can further reduce this price with about a third with GB points to make it about $17. Really nice I say.

Nope. Just got 2 spam mails from them on a rowā€¦
