UTorch SF01 price drop to $6.99

Rechargeable cr123 based cells are an issue because the button top protected ones are too long and the light won’t function without the tailcap loosened a couple turns. If you use a protected cell, use one that is equal in length to a standard store-bought cell.
I sold mine for a few bucks so I don’t have one to test thoroughly but the contact issue is what happened to me. When I swithched from a rcr123a to a regular 123a it worked fine.

Wait a second. Contact issue? If I can run a AA and the tail cap fully tightens then how come ya can’t run a shorter rechargeable cr123 cell? :student:

Also this light can’t work if the tail cap isn’t fully tightened to begin with. Btw I think you meant that the light won’t function WITH the tail cap loosened a couple turns. Which is true. Again, this light must be fully tightened for it to contact the tube and close the circuit anyway.

I sometimes cut a coil or two off tail cap springs if I think there’s excessive/unnecessary pressure on the neg batt anode. On this light if one plans to run AA length size batts it prolly wouldn’t hurt.

When using rcr123/16340/cr123 this flashlight has a fixed holder on the positive end, this holder is larger than the AA so you can push it down, so rechargeable protected cells witch are longer than cr123a may not fit. I test it with my only button top ORB1607 from my OTR U16 flashlight and it works, but this battery are not protected so i don’t recommend using it(this driver will keep draining the batteries, it’s not made for rechargeable li-ion), with my flat top 16340 don’t work(don’t make contact). Other option is using protected 14500, i’m running it with a soshine 14500 protected cell… one disadvantage of the 14500 or AA cells in this flashlight is to be a bit harder to screw the tail cap while pushing down hard at the same time.

See the first post for an even lower price for 11.11

Just ordered a 3-unit combo for USD 9,99 / EUR 9,23 from GB

Sorry to interrupt your tech-talk, but I just bought this light for $4.99 (€4.45).
Use the coupon code: GBQCSF01N when the light is in the cart.
Had to pay €0.74 for shipping, however.

More info, follow this link to Reddit.

Three SF01’s for $9,99 sounds better to me  Use the 3-units combo offer/promotion, no code needed.

this is a steal, i just order 3 for 10$ and i want to order another 3 :person_facepalming:

This youtube review shows an Enloop Pro being inserted into the flashlight and then being turned on. The review on the SF01 starts at 5:15 and the insertion of the AA battery is at 7:20.

Not the most professional of reviews but at least it shows it working with a RCR123A and an Enloop.

My wife would agree with you. She probably would buy much more of them to save much more money.
I just spent less on 1 light that only made me curious, probably can’t EDC and certainly won’t give away.
I only buy/give away lights that run on primaries if they are to be meant for a keyring or have a vampire driver.
So I don’t throw away anything that is not totally depleted (hmm, almost sounds like I’m a married woman :smiling_imp: )

Arrgghh… 3 XP-G2s for $10… there’s less than 100pcs left. With clip + pouch included and it’s programmable. While still waiting for 2nd batch of Sofirn’s C01… sure, why not?

I could not resist 3 for $9.99 either. Probably use for stocking stuffers. Has anyone used lithium- ion for any extended time in one of these yet? Might try a protected 14500 in one for giggles.

i gave mine a full run on high mode with lithium battery and it’s not an issue at all.

it gets warm and i would of guess around 45 degrees? (sorry i left my temperature sensor at my parent house)

Thanks for the report on that. I will give mine a try when they come.

3 for 9.99 sold out

3 for 9.99 not work for me I add 3 SF01 to cart but the price show 26.97 don’t know why.

Apparently sold out.

Yep, no luck buying 3 for 10$
although there’s no hint why it doesn’t work

“49 pieces left” on the main page, “sold out” on the 3-fers. Stinks…

The Utorch SF-01 just arrived at my doorstep. Nice ano, hardly any knurling, except for the tailcap.
But fear not, for when things get slippery, there is always a sturdy two-sided clip to cling to.

With the light comes a rather short generic holster and a on-sided printed manual in a generic box.
The manual says nothing about programming, but states that the head and the tailcap are interchangeable.
The picture in the manual says otherwise, because you can clearly see male and female threads.
Can’t provide any physical evidence because I was unable to separate head and body by manual force.
So I can’t tell what is inside the front of the light. But it has a regular sized tail-spring.
The switch looks to be fixated by a retaining ring but the it comes off in one piece and feels like a press-fit pill.

The trademark of this light is on the front side.
It enables the use of CR1213A, AA and even AAA primary batteries. The manual says: Voltage: 3.0V.
With a CR123A battery, the battery is stopped by a ledge, another spring makes contact on the front side.
This front spring proves to be very supple, because on inserting an AA battery, it protrudes past this ledge.
The actual inner diameter of that part of the body is about 14.5mm. The rear end diameter remains 17.3mm.

The front spring can easily handle CR123A (16*34mm) and AA (14*50mm) batteries.
When it comes to size alone, the same could be expected for AAA (10*44mm) batteries.
But I would not use these without adding a sleeve because the battery can easily get lop-sided (skew).
