I get that all the time. They will make great gifts at the price I got them for. I will wind up keeping 1 of each. Maybe both of the 5000K SST-40âs just because the emitter is so hard to get.
Any Canadians have any suggestions on where to source 26650 batteries for this light? Iâm new to this whole flashlight world and would appreciate some pro tips!! Thanks!
You can have an opinion on what is more useful/impressive to you but it is hard fact that those other lights put out more light and exceed the FT03 in other areas. For a high power thrower the FT03 is an almost unbeatable value though, the only real competition being the Catapult V6 IMO (boost driver and some other advantages, but less throw for a higher price).
Personally I rarely have use for a dedicated thrower and have put frosted lenses or diffusion film on my big-lumen lights, still plenty of range due to the sheer output. Just different tools for different jobs! :+1:
I used the code AFT03 and bought the FT03 Sw40 5700k version. Since this is a thrower I want the maximum throw. This will throw further. run cooler and run longer, which for me is a good trade off for the extra lumens of the 50.2. While it wonât have as much spill as the 50.2, I have other bright, floody lights, like the D4S for that, but none that will throw as far.
I had to have one of every flavor⌠way before the 3v 50.2 came out, I modded one of mine with it and for throw I de-domed a few SST-40âs and well the throwâŚ.it is impressiveâŚfor a $32.00 lightâŚ
Yeah I made a couple attemptsâŚ.when the dome lifted so did the phosphorousâŚhad a pretty decent one, then I dropped it, of course it landed face down, but I have yet to try the way I did the SST-40âsâŚâŚ
