I would rather see them make a bigger version of gt mini but smaller then blf gt, like a 21700 version with 60-70mm head or something… look at the ft03 and its outstanding throw with the sst20…
The Mini Pro is not a replacement to the Mini. It's less throw, more lumens and flood. It's almost half the throw of the Mini and almos 3 times the lumens. The Mini can still be found elsewhere and will probably on Amazon later when the dust settles from the current pandemic.
I just received mine. To be honest, I really like the beam pattern and output on this one. I Also have the OG Mini, yes it’s a thrower, and a micro as well as the big bro modded for 8K lumens and 2500+ feet of throw. I love them all. I do wish the new pro came in a warmer tint, but I can live with this one. It’s a real world user light to me. I love throw, but for a small pocket light in everyday life, this has a nice Combo of throw AND flood. Perfect sized hotspot in my opinion. If I need serious throw, in grabbing a bigger light.
You got the NW version? I wanted the NW version, but I figured a CW version is better for comparing the GT Mini and GT Mini Pro. Most people prefer CW according to flashlight companies (e.g., Olight and Nitecore)
I could understand maybe not caring for ww (the “old-lightbulb look”), but cw is horribly blue-white, like old hideous long-tube fluorescent fixtures. At least nw would be a “purer” white.
Then again, think about how many idiots still have actual blue-tinted headlights in their cars, so…
’Though I think 50000K is off into the gamma-ray part of the spectrum.
