A video review of the Astrolux SS and the Astrolux SC flashlights, from Banggood.
I received two flashlights from Banggood. They are the Astrolux SS and SC flashlights. They are not the BLF special lights, just the plain?? Astrolux brand.
The 2 part review is done. Not much of a review, but it gives the basics.

I plan on tearing down these lights and show the results here, as well as beam shots. I do not know if I will mod them or not. They are absolutely beautiful stock and I can't see a reason to mess with them. Instead I just want to go use them.
Thank you. These lights are so nice, I just can't bring myself to work on 'em. I did polish the copper light and the copper head of the stainless light. I used #0000 steel wool with Mother's aluminum mag polish and they look great polished, but that's about all I will do with them.
Nice review! BTW, the reflector on the Cu light is stuck on the O-ring. I had mine but i dropped the bezel and the reflector popped right off. Its not threaded to the bezel but its threaded to the head…
I’ve been super impressed with my Manker T01. It’s been running on Windyfire IMRs. I’ve really gotten to like the 14500 size lights for their compact size and output. So I ordered 3 of the SCs. Two of them are the higher K tint and one of the lower. Won’t have them for awhile. What tint are these? Really like the review. Great video, always have enjoyed your videos- it’s like having Sam Elliot narrate a flashlight review.
That’s the first thing I do with most product’s I buy if I can, take them to bit’s to see how well they’re made and to just understand how they’ve been designed and constructed.
Great review, and really nicely designed flashlights. I’ve not done much modifying flashlights other than using drop in LED Cree Bulbs into old Beaten up Surefire or anything else 8 years ago Just to show people how Great LED Bulbs worked. Thanks for the Great Reviews, and when I get Wi-Fi back at the House I’ll be watching all the Video’s about upgrading LED Flashlights that I can…
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us All, or this Newbie anyway…
Is it possible to use the astrolux S2 with a normal protected 18650 like a green eagtac?
I want to use this light as a everyday light around the house with muggle mode turned on. Is the muggle mode permanent? Will the eagtac fit and can i still turn on moonlight mode in combination with muggle mode?
I have received the SS.Money well spent. After I admired it for a while,I put in it a 30Q,and measured it with my luxmeter.
I measured 1190lux at 7.35m,with the battery at 4.05V,which is veery good for this light. When put in the algorithm,I saw almost 65,000Cd.
Happy. :sunglasses:
Yes, this is true. Those lights from the group buy shipped with just a single LED on the tail board. Its not hard to add a second though, if you wanted to “fix” yours. Later production of these lights may have two already though, I’m not sure.
good review, that ss stainless steel is so damn cool and heavy looking, just a tad expensive for me right now to buy… it looks like awesome with the lighted tailcap.
