GEEZ! i could NOT do that!

i'd want to put it in a safety deposit box and get a clone ...the bracelet - not to mention the actual watch!...

 i'm doomed to cheap watches.

fortunately i enjoy them.

though i do have an eye out for a "ventura loga".

$3500 on ebay.

Thanks Paul! BTW, I love your avatar. I’m a huge fan of the original Predator! I liked the others as well, but they pale in comparison to the original.

That’s me in the pic mate……..

Can I have your autograph?

Haha – I love the films too. I actually prefer the Alien series (well, most of them) but the Predator is seriously badass and has a better spaceship.

Alien and Aliens are my favorites. The other’s weren’t nearly as good.

I have the DVD box set of the first 4

I swim with my 100m water resistant Timex Expedition Crono. Never had a problem with moisture entering the watch. That said, I’d never let my new 50m water resistant Hamilton anywhere near water.

I wear my sub in fresh and salt water all the time. I keep it serviced and wear it without worry. I have been collecting watches for some 30 plus years and know how to care for them. I’ve been wearing this beater on a regular basis since I bought it new in 1980. Great watch.

Ditto…..

As it happens, a scene from Alien 3 was filmed about three miles north of me.

I received my Casio G-Shock GW-M5610-1BJF today.

My first negative display g-shock, it’s even worse than what i though regarding readability, it’s terrible.

I bought it with the intent to mod it to positive display because the equivalent positive display model (GW-M5610 wich i had a few monthes ago) has a dial surrounding the display a tad too colorful for my tastes.

Hopefully i don’t mess up.

Are you planning to replace the polarizing film?

I found a picture of someone who did what i want to do but he changed the whole module instead of just the polarizing film, the one on the left is a GW-M5610-1B the same i have (see how the dial around the display is much more subdued on the 1B) and comes with a negative display, the one on the right is the GW-M5610-1 and comes with the positive display, what he did is just put a positive display module in the 1B.

There is also another route to have a square G-shock with the 3159 module a positive display and not to colorful dial, it’s the GW-5000 as seen below on the left, but it’s heavier (full stainless casing) much more expensive (north of 300$) and i like the dial less than the GW-M5610-1B

I have been digging the watch micro brands lately. Just received the Spinnaker Fleuss. Really like it so far and receiving some wrist time in the EDC rotation.

According to this tutorial replacing the polarizing film is not a big deal.

SKX013 on Hadley Roma with quick deployment clasp.

Tend to get a cheapy, change straps to suit, wear it 24/7 for 12 months then onto the next, Seiko Autos have always served me well and handled the abuse.
No manual wind for the 7S26 but is never of the wrist long enough to matter.

Things i require in a watch.

Water resistant and rugged above all else, usually a diver
Plenty of lume
not hard rule but usually under 40mm
quick the remove/ put on.
mostly Autos, but love a quartz too.

not a cheapy but the next will be a black bay.

Really like the choice of hands, tend not to crack open the cases, but the Hardlex sure sucks up any specks flying around. Did a quick job with an angle grinder and the face is covered in micro lumps and bumps.
might have to get a sapphire crystal. lets hope i can stop at that.

hmm, maby a double dome

maby a blackbay dail

maby Merc hands too.

maby a ceramic insert.

some call it blasphemy, some call it “Homage”

Torches, watches, cars, bikes, cant stop modding em……….

I never thought I’d get a smartwatch, but I did. It’s a Samsung S3 Gear Frontier. I purchased it based on the excellent reviews I’ve watched on youtube. Right now it’s charging, so I can’t give my opinion yet. I purchased it from BestBuy for $299.99

This is the only watch I own. My oldest son and my wife got it for me for fathers day 15 years or so ago. Don’t know if it’s a decent one or, a not so decent one. It’s the only watch I have ever owned or worn. Keeps good time and only needed 1 battery in 15 years.

Sad news about my newly purchased Hamilton mechanical watch. The crown shaft broke by simply winding it. It was most definitely not overwound. I returned it for a replacement or refund. I called my credit card and filed a dispute just in case Watchwearhouse gives me a hard time.
Wish me luck.

Liking the smart watch glenn, presume you can pick your display/hands…………very cool. I am still in the old ages i guess, auto’s mainly for me. Just something about them. Hope you get sorted with the Hamilton, sure you will………….damn i would have been gutted.

Love the seiko’s weklund, you certainly have some nice gear, watches, lights and no doubt knives! Maybe a mans worst 3 enemies to his wallet.

Also love that skx013, very cool Smile

My Hamilton Khaki Field Officer Watch is being repaired instead of replaced. watchweahouse.com claims it’s being repaired by their expert Hamilton repair guy. I told them I’m extremely picky as far as any evidence, scratches, accuracy, etc. The guy I spoke to assured me that they are picky as well. They said they will calibrate my watch as well. I was getting about 10 seconds fast a day which is good for a manual winding watch. Maybe they can get it better? I hope so.
