Do Not Buy Batteries From Buy-In-Coins

I just got 6 of the grey protected UltraFire 18650 2400mah batteries this Sat. One of them wouldn’t even charge to 1 volt on my multimeter even though it showed green on my Xtar chargers I have which is odd in itself. But I checked it on my multimeter and only got like .840 volts. I ended up filing a claim through paypal and got all of my money back. But there is no doubt in my mind that he is selling fake batteries.

Lots of BLF complaints about this seller. They have been on my AVOID list since day-1.

Ultrafire 18650 cells should also be avoided. I am guessing you got some recycled laptop harvests, or smaller cells that have been re-cased.

Do you still have the cells? It would be interesting to dissect one of them. Most of the Ultrafire bad voodoo is with the red 18650… not so much the gray ones.

Thanks for the (further) heads-up.

hmmm, I was contemplating some of their protected Sanyo cells. They refunded my STL-V2 no problem, but …

I threw the one away and did dissect it. No writing whatsoever.

I’m keeping the other 5 and will watch them closely.

I would buy from a reputable seller.

You might try here.

I would have told you the same thing if you had asked me before.

I knmow you are not new member, but it would be nice if we would have sxome warning for new members, newbies etc, not to buy batteries from dinodirect, buyincoins, from most sellers on ebay etc…
It would save them much trouble and give them better flashlight experience etc, if they buy better batteries.

I agree. The seller I bought from who I called Buy-In-Coins on ebay is sinedya and I think he owns Buy-In-Coins. He has other usernames as well, but any auctions with photos that have BIC on them I would go elsewhere.

I bought some fake TrustFire flame 18650 2400mah batteries off of ebay as well.

One of the sellers I know for sure that sold me fakes was best2buy724. And I am pretty sure another one was 247onlinestock. I would buy elsewhere. On one of the sets I got from I am pretty sure best2buy724 on the outer clear wrap surrounding the pair of batteries was a Dino-Direct emblem sticker. Now go figure. That tells me that seller is more than likely affiliated with DD. Avoid at all cost is my advice.

hittime_hk is one of the other usernames and I am sure there are plenty more that Buy-In-Coins goes buy.

I bought the Marsfire STL-V2 clone from him and he never even bother sending it to me. I did get a full refund. And really I’m glad I didn’t get it because of what I have heard that it’s not that good of light. But that just shows you what kind of seller he is when they take your money and never send you what you ordered. I ordered that light on 6-28.

Yeah I was crazy that I ordered that flashlight :o
Ill probably just use the head for some mod, witch C8 tube for example.

Maybe you should take you own advice. Just ribbing ya! Yea it’s hard to sit back and let others keep buying right in front of you when you might miss a good deal.

Yes but if only that Manafont thrower with 62mm head and sideswitch was released little earliewr, I wouldnt even think to order this light.

XCrappiest cells I ever bought were totally bad TF flames “bailleys” from DD and long ago Trustfire protected 14500 from buyincoins. Protection circuit tripped after minute or so in Sipik Sk68, unusable, 100-200mAh capacity, huge voltage sag.
From DX you can buy some cells, but it turned out to be risky many times (especially TF flames). Trustfire protected, blue, 2500mAh are rather scinsistent 2300mAh, it seems, and little lower price than flames, so good value for mooney - but also can stand higher currents, so only for “weaker” emmiters.

Also on buyincoins I got few packs of bad TF-flames (only 1000-1500mAh capacity and bad PCB, DX had same ones for some time, but after many complaints DX it seems ismore careful now, but Im not prepared to risk anymore), after few packs of good ones

Dinodirect is to be avoided totally (when speaking about cells), without exception - its a total gamble, even if they have some good cells in the warehouse, nobody can guarantee you, not even they themselves, wich ones will be shipped out
On buyincoins it seems that you can buy some good panassonics or something,m Sanyo etc, until know they were genuine, as I hear, but if you want to order more cells than again its a risk, that they maybe changed stock etc. And these sellers dont give refund easily.

Maybe Ill change to Himax totally and not buy “flames” anymore. If you buy 12 yo can get almost same price as flames, even lower.

The Hi-Max are about equivalent to the Sanyo Xtar 2600mah batteries.

I forgot to mention that I know for a fact that the Hi-Max 2600 cells are made by Samsung.

Yeah I know, maybe even better, and much better than Trustfire flames. So price difference is not so big, and quality difference is big.

I got 6 of the Keeppower(Panasonic) 18650 3400mah coming that should be the cats meow for being the best.

I also have 2 Xtar 18700 2600mah coming. I have to get rid of all these fake batteries I have.

I have to say I like their prices and offered crap but concerning batteries I’d first think hard what to order from them. I have actually good experience with their batteries (TF flames) except one 14500 that has a very small capacity but works.

I received today (15 days from ordering) one of these from seller hittime_hk (BuyInCoins eBay subsidiary).

Looks like there is a genuine Sanyo under the clear wrapper, with the identical, hard to see "Sanyo" and "UR18650FM" hot stamping on the original pink wrapper beneath, as well as other markings that seem to match the plain unprotected flattop supposedly genuine Sanyo from IntlOutdoors.

The thick protection board is covered by a metal plate for wear resistance, but the overall length climbs to 69,7mm which makes it my first 18650 battery that doesn't fit into my fully stretched UF WF-139 charger at all (I don't own any Xtars). In fact, I dented the bottom battery plate while trying to force it in and had to resort to the TF TR-006 charger instead.

The battery came at 3.79V and charged to 4.20V nicely. I have no means to check its true capacity but it delivers 3.6A to my TrustFire F-15 no problem.

I was contemplating some of their protected Sanyo cells.

TF flames are quite old, would recommend relatively new TF 3000mAh. A few bucks more but well worth it.

If 5 worked and you got 1 bad. Why would u want a total refund? Also did you send them back with claim or you kept them?
