I am off to Fiji later this week and I am told that beer in the resort I am going to is Aus $8 each. I thought I might pick up a case (or two) on the way in. Can anyone recommend a good local beer to buy?
At those prices?
Vodka. 
Anything ice cold for me. 
I will probably grab a bottle of vodka as well but need a beer chaser to go with it.

I stayed in a resort there a few years ago and the local beer was owned by Fosters. We bought our meals and grog as part of our package and saved a packet. There was two different brews at the time that we drank from the tap. I cant remember what they were called but one was good and the other so so. It would be up to personal taste which you liked. More thinking, Fiji bitter was the one I liked from memory. They also had there own spirits as well. They were ok as well. The people there are the freindliest I have ever met, not that I have been to many places outside Aus. Have a good holiday.

It can't be any more dangerous than Australia. I almost had a head on today with some fool overtaking a car towing a caravan, on a bend! Missed him by an inch. If I was going slightly faster I would not be here now.

It looks like the fiji gold and the other 2 made by the same company aren't given very high marks ..sounds like i'd be trying about anything since it can't be that much worse

Just as important, what lights are you going to take ?
The resort is 109 acres so I might walk around at night. I will have my dqg tiny aaa on my keys but I thought I might take my xeno e03 and maybe a sipik sk68 (as a loaner). Will take a small charger and a few 14500’s. I don’t want to take anything too big as I will mostly be wearing a Tshirt and board shorts. Don’t even need to carry money while in the resort. Might take a quark mini x 123 as well. I am actually going to a wedding and wait for it……
The whole trip is free apart from what I drink! - which will be a lot.

The bride gets a dqg tiny aaa and the groom a Dqg tiny AA as a side gift. Mrs edc has control of the major gift and is feeling very generous considering the holiday is free.
