So if you’re reading a review which do you prefer? Do GIFs slowdown your browser? Does your phone read them? Anyway, which do you prefer? Why? Do you even care?
i believe tons of gif do slow the computer down. Say 20 or so that are 1MB+ all on a website. Even if it’s in background they still take a decent processing power, even for my 6 core AMD. As for mobile or phone. Last time I check they only show thumbnails or a still picture for a good 5-10 mintues. And if they run they are like choppy.
Go away and/or troll the new Convoy experience thread. "Everyone" has subscribed it, so posting, deleting, and re-posting will make them more than happy..
I usually don't notice any issues with either format, but like Chloe said, Mouseover/JPG is the best for beamshot comparisons. For most purposes, there's no need for the animated .gif and those tend to be a bit annoying. The only use for an animated .gif is for humorous content...
For example, here is a photo of Kreisl/Dinoboy deleting his posts!
JPEGs - good for closeup shots, presenting details like threads, Rollovers - good for 2-photo comparison like two flashlights @ max output mode (or any other mode), or comparison of throw etc, Gifs - good for overall product presentation, when you want to show the product from all sides but you don’t want to post 5+ pictures to do that. They can also be made from macro photos to show details. I love them, they are fun & easy to do, offer endless possibilities
