I have thought about this several times, a lot of good folks here ask a few questions now and then. The popularity of machining flashlight parts or tools to buy for machining seems to come up quite often. I know the other forum has a machining section. I just wanted to see if there was enough interest in having one here before I said anything to the boss. A machining section could contain a lot of useful machining information in one place.

No. IMO there are enough subsections and it is already confusing as it is!
good point. I am a machinist with my own Mill, Lathe and metalworking tooling, and have made many parts already like solid pills, extender plates, etc. for some of my modded lights.
Yes and hand tool section as well.

As a retired tool and die maker I would like to see one. I have a lathe and mill, though not very good ones, they can get the job done.

This would make it easy for those of us with machines to perhaps post / share more of our work and techniques. And... give my Aussie friend a place to post all of outlandish, beautiful, perfectly designed, nicely executed, highly polished, stylish... "To die for" lights!

Seriously though, Why NOT? It’s always nice to have one spot where you can go to look up stuff that is of specific interest.
Would love to see that too! And speciality or modded tools made by members for our hobby.
How about a section with only custom builders or mods posts? So us new folks can go to one area and drool & and learn. Whatcha think? It can be a lot to navigate for a newbie. Still love it so far.

Just put your Maglite in front of the TV. It will be bored in minutes…
