20 Light night shots. 150 and 520 metres. 520m pics added 29.4.14.

I'll start with the 150 meter shots. The current readings that were taken were 3 days after the night shots were taken. The batteries had in all lights a small amount of use as the weekend before these shots were taken for the first time but were not good enough to show. The batteries were not topped up in between.

The aiming point was a 20 liter white bucket hanging in the tree. The pictures are about what I was seeing at the time.

1. 10 Degree XML-U2 TIR 2.8 amp driver.

2. Ultrafire SK98 std. 1.75 amps tailcap. This light was provided FOC for review which ia a work in progress.

3. Ultrafire W878 std. 2.2 amps tailcap. This light has a larger diameter lens than the light above.

4. Ultrafire IPX7 std. 2.1 amps tailcap.

10. Ultrafire C12 std. 2.9 amps tailcap.

11. OL Build C8. 2.4 amps tailcap. There is not a good contact at the switch I'm guessing as the current reading should be a lot higher.

12. A60 DeDo XPG-2 3C. 1.5 amps tailcap.

13. HD2010 std. 4.5 amps tailcap.

14. HD2010 mod. XML-2 on copper. IOS 5 amp driver. Driver and led changed since this build.

15. HD2010 MTG-2. 2.7 amps. 3 amp driver.

16. TN32 std.

17. TN35 std.

18. DST XML-2 DeDo. 5 amp driver. Led dedomed since the build.

19. DST MTG-2. 5 amp driver. Only running 3 x 26650s now.

20. Monster light MTG-2. 9 amp driver.

And finally a group hug.

Finally these shots as best I can make out on Google earth are 520 meters distance to the shed. Keep in mind that the color is a creamy color so will reflect quite a bit of light. If you check the surroundings though you can see trees, hill and a log cabin in some of them.

A60 DeDo XPG-2 3C. 1.5 amps tailcap (stock driver).

DST MTG-2. 5 amp driver. Only running 3 x 26650s now.

Great thread! I’ll slowly be going through all the lights/links that look interesting to me. Thanks for sharing.

DST <3

The TN’s are pretty impressive too.

Great shots.

Very interesting comparison, Thanks!

Great beam shots. Thanks!

Excellent comparator. Some of them surprised me.

Excellent comparison shots. Quite revealing.

Beautiful land. Is that on your property?

I am hoping that all those powerful lumens didn’t melt the ice and warm the beer that was in the prize bucket! Nice idea. Think I would have put it closer so when I got thirsty…

Amazing work, thank you !
The TN35 look like the most versatile flashlight and with a very nice tint.

Thanks guys. Hopefully tonight I can get the next lot of shots up at 520 or there a bouts meters.

Edit. No its not my land. Its a top secret light testing facility in Australia I borrowed for a few hours. I should of pointed out that there is no reflective surfaces in the shot and the fog was getting worse as the night wore on.

Thank you for sharing this. Great photos.

+1!

520 Metre shots added to the 1st post.

Lovely. Thanks for the share!

Good work.

For the metrically challenged, Google says that 520 metres = 1,706 feet.

The 520 metre shots really put things into perspective. The shots are great !!

That TN32 is worth every penny , It is an amazing collection you got there.

More fantastic shots (Post 1). Like how the trees help give a feel for the spill too.

You really turned the DST into a monster. Hard to believe they went on clearance (some Canadian members got them for $6) while the other HD lights stay full price.

Your TN32 is making me want to partially unmod my TN31. Like the bigger hot spot and better spill with the dome (Mine is dedomed).

Thanks for the pictures!
