Any one tried the Cree XP-L V5-2A from fasttech

Hello

Any one tried the Cree XP-L V5-2A from fasttech

Is it really 2A Bin ?

Ordered three yesterday.

2A is the tint (not bin).

I just recieved it today. Love the NW CW tint. It is rated 5700k-6100k if i am not mistaken.

Its CW, not NW.

I have 8 of them on their way from FT. When they arrive I'll let you know.

thx every one

but freeme did you got yours from Fasttech ?

JohnnyMac any update ?

I ordered 3 and put one in my Sunwayman V20C and it has very nice CW tint. No blue, green, or green-yellow tint. Just a nice white light with the usual soft yellow corona around the hotspot.

Edit: forgot to mention I used the V5 2A tint.

I have one 2A XP-L on the way. (ordered last week with a bunch of other emitters)

I’ve got a V20C with XM-L U2 480lm but upgrading the emitter to V5 sounds good.I ordered 2 XP-L V5 noctigon’s from Int Off(Hank) this evening.One could go into the SWM.
I’ve got thread de-locker(BGA 1C).
I remember a thread on dismanteling mag ring lights from a year ago or so.Did you have any particular problems or any tips.If I do it ,it will be on a sinkpad.
I’ve ordered a 2A tint a well.

It’s both actually. V5 is flux bin, 2A is tint bin.

Nope, it was not glue in anyway. Used the back side of a mouse pad and press it on the bezel and was able to open it easily. from there take out the reflector then the white centering piece and you have direct access to the emitter there. No need to mess with the magnetic ring or driver.

I’m not familiar with BGA 1C. Can you provide a link?

Real cree ? I was hoping they would have 20 mm copper boards instead of aluminum.

Just get it on Noctigon from IOS, you even have a video showing the LED's real, not to mention the price is selling for now.

Not quite. Binning is a general term for grading examples of a part according to various criteria. CPU and GPU makers bin their chips by things like maximum clock speed and power consumption. According to CREE:

They may be identifiable by a unique code in the end, but on CREE's datasheets you see the codes available for a buyer have at least 4 tins (1A 1C 1D 1B) for 1 brightness bin (U2), and there are many other codes that contain more than 1 tint of the same 1 brightness bin (U2). This is basically what you see on Mouser when you get an LED, finally you will have not known what is the tint of that LED except for it's brightness (U2, T6, T4, etc)

Hi Wight. An e-bay link here .Cannot remember if it was the same seller, but it’s the same product.

+1 for Internat Outdoor, that is who I ordered mine from.

Thanks, interesting. You use this to soften thread lockers?
