I wonder if you could get Acebeam to warranty it?

Might be more trouble than it’s worth? I don’t know, It was a great price, but in this case I got what I paid for LOL Hopefully everybody else gets a good light.

Try one click and on the second click hold —- mine goes in by holding button but sometimes I have to click and hold on the second click to get it back to white light

That doesn’t work either, it just cycles from brightness levels when I try it. Very disappointed with this light, I wanted something that I wouldn’t’ have to toss out after a few years like my tips, tini or olight I1r and the red/uv which I dont have on any other lights except a red on an old petzl headlamp

Amazon discounts normally have nothing to do with the chances of receiving a dud or lemon. They all ship from the same warehouse regardless of the price being sold so I wouldn’t call this “you get what you pay for” situation. If you’ve really tried everything in the manual then it’s probably a factory defect, try asking for a replacement instead of refund.

Mine should arrive tomorrow so I can confirm about the version.

Even if he received the earlier version, it should still have a working red light and UV light. Based on what he described, his light is defective.

I would also think you could contact Amazon and set up a replacement unit once more inventory arrives. May take a little while. I would at least try since the price was so good.

Amazon doesn’t do this for “Fulfillment by Amazon” orders.

It’s usually impossible to replicate a lightning deal and a coupon on an exchange when not shipped from and sold by amazon, I have tried in the past but they couldn’t do it. Of course after I just shipped it back I see the seller has stocked it again, but no coupon now, still wondering if they were offloading a defective batch, has anyone else got theirs yet?

I got mine and works just as advertised. I am sure he got a bad one.

I’m not calling out Amazon on this, they have always been solid with me, I even just got my refund a minute ago after dropping it off at UPS 2 hours ago…I was referring to Acebeam and their quality control, a defect like that should never have been shipped out, it’s obvious they don’t fully test the lights before they package them.

Wasn’t sure. Of course I have only had to get a refund on one item in all the years I have purchased items through Amazon. I have had a couple of defective items that the seller has replaced without any issues. That usually happened after a poor review.

Reposting from UC15 review thread:

Got mine from the amazon $20 deal, another lemon. Same as Blackbeard’s UC15.

3 modes on the main group + turbo and strobe, nothing else.

Long press from off does nothing it just turns on the main emitter when released, no matter how long I hold it. Tried with 2 types of batteries but same thing.

Seems like they flashed it with a FW from another flashlight.

I received mine a few days ago and have not had much time with it, but I found it worked OK with the 10440 batteries. But when I tried a pair of AAA’s, it worked as will34 says: Only has 3 basic modes, and no red or UV access.

Interesting behavior… I haven’t tried with a 10440 because my efest won’t make contact, will solder a blob tonight and test again.

Edit:

You were right! Worked fine with 10440. Still a defective light but I plan to use li-ion anyways and for the price I won’t conplain.

So the software has some sort of command that only lets that function occur if the voltage is high? I dont know how these codes work but that seems weird.

Vipon has a half-price coupon for SK68s with side-COBs for a buk-fitty each, ie, 15bux for 10.

No, no, no, just no. But if anyone’s crazy enough to want some, hey, have at it.

I was debating getting some just to pull the COBs, but even so it ain’t worth it. Probably Angry Blue™ if not Hateful Purple™.

Weren’t they available (UT branded, but sold as “Aiden” or something) for like 8bux a pop?

Seems a lot extra just for a rechargeable 14500…

I don’t mean to pop anyone’s balloons or anything, but…

The version without the 14500 is on sale too.

Regarding the $8 deal I thought that was the A7 “AAA” version.

I modded one of these but beware my version was glued in a few places:

Thanks! I hadn’t looked on Vipon in a while. Just picked up 3 of the Tool AA for $24.67 after coupons (so $8.22 each).

Ah, yeah, it’s AA vs AAA.

Picked up one of the AAs and one of the Lumintops.

Buncha game-playing with add’l coupons, so only hit ‘em up once. The “G3XCLL” or whatever for the LT AAA didn’t work, though.

Well, at least I’ll have 1 to play with…

Got the AA and AAA Tool for $10.75. I have plenty of pen lights but the IP365 could have been stacked as well for another $10 or so.
