a 1xAAA light i want...

1xAAA
lumens from 1 to 100
1 2 4 8 16 32 64 100 lumens would be good

beam pattern: hot spot with some flood spill

accepts 10440 li ions, or nimh or alkaline or carbon zinc

can;t seem to find it

the cheap ones are either single mode, or all-flood pattern
[flood makes it shorter dimensionally]

would also be nice to not have strobes, be under $30, and be under 80mm long, no PWM dimming

can have side clicky, reverse or forward clicky,
can do without lanyards, disco modes, tail stand, glowing parts,

is there such a thing?

That is A LOT of modes. You could flash a driver with a firmware of your choice but you won’t find such a programmable driver in AAA diameter.
I also believe that would be not very user friendly as you described it, to be honest.

If you are really picky about the modes, maybe you should get a stepless brightness light, such as jetbeam RRT01 or sunwayman V11R. But both are CR123/ 16340 or 18350 size.
Luckily V11R is on sale right now. http://www.illumn.com/sunwayman-v11r-xm-l2-216-lumens-1-x-cr123a.html

mainly i just want a tiny light using 1xAAA with some light variation, going to 100, and a spot/flood combo beam

i don;t have to have all the levels but i do want at least some

i don;t see any 1xAAA lights with varying outputs…

Just buy the Tank007 E09. It has three modes, and is generally very well reviewed.

No strobes or blinkies. Very compact twisty, no clickie like you are wanting. 70mm.

$13.26 @ Fasttech in black, brown (deep gray), and red (fuchsia) colors.

Runs on both Lithium 10440 rechargeable and Alkaline/Zinc/NiMH AAA cells as well.

Liteflux LF2XT gets you mostly there. I believe it has PWM dimming, but has the rest. It supports 10440 and AAA and has a very complex and customizable driver.

They’re pretty pricey though. Originally they sold for $60 or so several years ago. Now since Liteflux went out of business, they’re selling for $265 on CPF.

I save the following lights in AAA size: 47’s preon, Lumintop tool and DQG mini AAA. All of those have different modes, respectively 3+hidden blinkies, 3 w/o blinkies, 2. They are very small and well built, and they all have a good compromise of a beam profile in my opinion. I think you could be happy with any of them as your EDC.
Also, Eagletac makes a very nice twisty light in AAA format, coming in various tints too.

I read the post wrong initially, superimposing my own want. So I’ve been looking for 10440s flashlights with a clicky and strobe, which I can’t find they exist. The DQG Tiny is a great choice for a keychain as it’s light and if you make sure to get the version that supports 10440s, it’ll will be bright enough without a tight spot. I don’t think clickys are currently being produced in the AAA line by DQG, so make sure you don’t buy a fake.

It’s amazing how some of the AAA/10440 lights are like little lead weights on a keychain. Before you decide on something, make sure you look at the weight for each. You may want to opt for a twisty, as it’s very easy to operate with one hand, and it’s a lighter choice.

I have 2 of these, and they are great!
They have it at CNQulaityGoods also, but that website seems to be a question mark now ?

I love tiny AAA clickies—but by design almost all are flooders.
If you need a bit of throw—I’d recommend the Tank 007 TK-703

why is cnqualitygoods a bit of a question mark now?

CNQ link for the Mini AAA xp-g2 light is working now.
The last few times I tried, It wouldn’t come up—just a message in Chinese.
Maybe they were doing maintenance?

UltraTac K18 is fine for you.

where can you buy them?
also looks like correct model is K17 not K18…
what is the price range?

thx

That Ultratac K17 looks promising, but please do not just come with a first post promoting your product. Open a dedicated presentation thread, it would be better.

I would be happy to test and review the K17 flashlight if you are able to ship a sample unit.

I just bought a D25AAA nichia and I LOVE the tint. It has blinkers only if u keep switching on and off continue sly past 4 to 5 times. I only 3 turns to high output

i would also enjoy reviewing a sample or prototype
thx

The UltraTac K17 does not like 10440’s for breakfast. Only 0.9-1.5V batteries. According to the UltraTac website.

Review sample units may not be the same product that gets sold, remember how the lottery works.
When a light accumulates multiple positive reviews from people who actually bought their own, you know a lot more about it.

For example: Review: Tank007 E09 v3 model (and that whole thread) amounts to a glowing recommendation for the Tank light.
With dissection, and improvement.

After ‘Ultratac’ clicks the link for Commercial Sellers
and does what’s recommended there — that’s the “Read Me First” info for commercial sellers — maybe some of us will get their lights, as samples or even buy them if they put a price on them.
After a few of us have taken them apart, improved them, and posted the pictures, THEN we’ll know what they’re selling.

Thank you all!

I am here not to promote my flashlight, and the model K17 is stopped already. The website haven’t updated. Now we released K18 instead of it. And we will send out some sample for review later.

I am a new member of BLF, and I do not know the rules of BLF. Is there anybody could let me know what should I do to let you know the details? Thanks.
