LOL! Too bad it wasn’t a flashlight, I would have bought it to add to my funny named flashlight collection.

If that’s a authentic Hung Dong I wonder what a fake Hung Dong charger looks like

Who wanta some Wang?

long life light flashlight outdoor driving good waterproof rechargeable LED xenon lamp 500 meters long Wang

That Long Wang!

it must have some kind of new hybrid “LED xenon lamp”, and the specifications is off the deep end for making no sense.

Testing picture upload and reviving this old gem of a thread.

Nice brakes on the mean machine.

You guys all laugh!

I remember the first time when I walked into a BJ’s Wholesale Club and saw a 12’ Tube TV made by Samsung.
I just stood there, repeating the name over and over in my head. “Sam-Sung, Sam-Sung”
WHAT KIND OF NAME IS THAT!

Anybody remember “Lucky Goldstar”, later known as just Goldstar?
They call themselves just LG today

Then there was another one, “Apex”. But they didn’t do as well, I don’t even know if they are still around.
(When DVD’s first came out, their player had a secret menu that allowed the coping of DVD’s to a VCR)

Oh, yeah, Goldstar :D!

And copying DVD to DVD, have one new in the box. Never used because I have a box that does the same thing.

Don’t remember “Lucky Goldstar”?
That’s where the “LG” comes from.

Back then you couldn’t just connect an S-Video cable between a DVD player and a VCR. DRM got in the way and scrambled the output. A secret key sequence on the Apex remote brought up a menu that had the message
“What are YOU doing here?”
From there you could unscramble the video and make a clean copy to a VCR.

BTW, Samsung and LG are fierce rivals, both based in Seoul, South Korea

oh yeah hong dong electronics sounds like a real bargain

I know, I just remember the latest iteration of their name, Goldstar, I believe, was the last name here in Baltics they used before turning into LG :).

From Lucky-Goldstar to LG, or… Brands That Change With The Times
