Has anyone ever done runtimes for the various levels? I know that it depends on the battery, but just as a general guideline…

This light really punch quite a lot so with a regular cell you can expect about 60 mins of good runtimes

My astrolux S1 came with the white unmarked star. The LED is really tiny compared to my fake lattice brights.

Is this LED legit? The driver says alex wells but the star does not. It is copper though.

they run out of DTP star:P
it’s XP hd led, so the footprint is smaller than XM-l2 led, same size as XP-g2

So I shouldn’t worry then? I got the brown box and it says “test” in the bar code.

Maybe it’s because of glue
Normally it shouldn’t be there
But just blow it, clean it, you shouldn’t worry about it

It doesn’t seem like glue. Like someone put a CD in the microwave.

I got BG to send a replacement reflector. Not only is this one free of speckle and slightly better machined, the pattern inside is much finer. My best guess as to the stuff is whatever was sprayed inside to make the pattern. Does not clean up or scratch off.

Ok, so its my first attempt at bending piano wire. Its not exactly perfect but its proof that it can work. The clip came out a bit shorter than I was trying to make it. But the up side is, now its easy to take off the tail to charge the battery and it doesn’t scratch the sides as you turn it. I think my second attempt I will try again to keep it about this short. I already like it more than the convoy S2 clip that I had on it. That damn thing wants to scratch everything that I walk past!

I used 1.2mm Piano wire. Generic stuff from ebay
These M2 sized screws
and the M2 sized nuts to fit them.

Yes thats the tailcap off a BLF A6. I immediately gave it a polish as soon as I got it out of the box. It looks much better now. I just borrowed it since its one in the same as the S1 cap.

My goal was to make it something closer to this

Can the NCR18650B battery be used? And will the Keeppower IMR 18350 flat top battery be used? Can you tell me which 18350 can be used for flash light?. If I use the olight 16340 , will the light’s performance be reduced?
Thanks!

The Astrolux S1 combined with the tail cap of a Skilhunt H03 makes for a meaaan little twisty Smile

Gotta love the Swedish postal service – $9 added to every package from China…

(How many did you buy?)
Forgot to say you should have asked for the entire head assembly or tail cap that’s missing the retaining ring. AFAIK, “Astrolux” is Banggood custom brand name of BLF A6. US PayPal has 6-month dispute deadline. Check PayPal policy for your country and if you are still within dispute period, file dispute with PayPal.

Hello! I just bought this FL and am mightily impressed! Will a Thyrm Swithback fit into this? Or something similar?

Help, I bought an Astrolux S1 and it NEVER illuminated. I was using it in the short mode with a 18350 battery. It was a DE, 900Ah, 3.5 V. Is this the correct battery? I have heard of unprotected batteries. Is this what I have, should have??? Help is appreciated.

I read somewhere that the tube should be in a specific direction but I’m not completely sure if its the S1. Have you tried flipping it around so that the knurling is closer to the head of the light or the other way around?
