A little beamshot comparison of my decent Thrower material.

Recently I got two new aspherical Zoomies, one Uniquefire 1504 and one 1405, that both get’s a little pimp up from my good TLF fellow
Mr. Kenjii. And btw. these are not the only ones he put his magic hands on.
Anyway it felt like it’s a good time to get some guns loaded, and get a look on how they mess up.

The aspherical section:
!!
f. left to right —-> Dereelight Night Master XP-G2 ded. & XM-L2 ded. / ca. 4 A —- Vinz Mod. , Dereelight X-Searcher XP-G2 & XM-L2 ded. / ca. 4A — Vinz Mod. , Uniquefire 1504 XP-G2 ded. / ca. 4 A – Kenjii Mod., Crelant 7G5CS Collimator XP-G2 ded. – ca. 5 A – Kenjii Mod. , Uf. 1405 – XP-E2 red – ded. / ca. 3 A – Kenjii Mod.

The reflector section:
!!
backwards f. left —-> Olight M3X – XM-L2 ded. (stock version) , Crelant 7G5CS Reflector XP-G2 ded. – ca. 5 A – Kenjii Mod. , TN 31 – XP-G2 ded. / ca. 5 A Kenjii Mod., in front —-> Ultrafire – T90 – XM-L2 ded. / ca. 6,5 A madmark Mod.

An impression of the target at daylights:
!!
!!

It’s a 165 m high cooling tower from a coal-fired power plant in our area.
The beam distance is about 580 m /* +*-
Camera mode manuel: iso – 100 , time – 4 sec. , blend – F 5.6
First picture of every flashlight is in natural distance , the second one is with 11 x optical zoom.

The night watch:

For a better overview the optical zoom pictures shrinked to 400 pix.

So I hope you enjoy it, at least a little bit.
Comments, critiques or questions are welcome

Maybe from time to time I will add a few more.

Very nice.

I bet shining a bunch of lights on a nuclear plant cooling tower may have raised a few eyebrows though, lol! ShockedBig Smile

Last year I spend a balmy summernight with some of the flashlights from the thread opening and some other ones
at the banks of Lower Rhine river.

!!
l.t.r.: —-> Ultrafire – T90 – XM-L2 ded. / ca. 6,5 A — madmark Mod. ——> Olight M3X – XM-L2 ded. (stock version) , ——> Präriefire D6 XP-G2 ded. / 3 A — Wild Mod. —-> Dereelight X-Searcher XP-G2 ded. & XM-L2 ded. / ca. 4A — Vinz Mod. ——> Dereelight Night Master XP-G2 ded. & XM-L2 ded. / ca. 4 A — Vinz Mod. ——> Dereelight DBS-T XP-G2 ded. / 4 A Vinz Mod. ——> not on the picture – XIN TD C8 V5 XP-G2 ded. / 4 A (and an illuminating side appearance by Mr. Moon)

The target zone for the river beamshots ist the base of a power pole which is placed at the western bank of the river, spanning a distance of 500 meters to its counterpart at the east bank.
!!

!!!!

From the choosed place for these beamshots, which is a bit diagonal shifted southwards, we have a beam distance of ca. 530 meters. (by measuring tool of Google Earth). First picture of every flashlight is in natural distance , the second one is with 11 x optical zoom.
Camera mode is manuel: iso – 100 , time – 3,2 sec. , blend – F 4.5

The night watch:
!!

XIN TD C8 V5 XP-G2 ded. / 4 A – ca. 130 klux

Ultrafire – T90 – XM-L2 ded. / 6,5 A – ca. 550 klux — madmark Mod.

For a better overview, once again the optical zoom pictures shrinked to 400 pix.

Great comparison photos! That’s not easy to do. I get a kick out of seeing the neat, square die of the emitter in these aspherical beamshots. I could almost read the serial number in a couple of those shots! LOL

Aspheric 450 kcd beam:

Vs 550 kcd reflector:

My 280 kcd aspherics visually outthrows my 340kcd reflector… Especially on longer distances.

Aspheric beam has sharp borders, so there is better contrast between illuminated area and dark area. The enhanced contrast lets us to perceive it brighter and further in the night.

Perfect pictures!

It’s spring time,

and the last night has been a pretty nice one, so I take the chance for some beamshots from a little selection
with some of my smaller sized flashlights.

Very nice. Thanks for posting these up. You have some lights that throw very well.

Same target zone as to find above, for the river beamshots is the base of a power pole which is placed at the western bank of the river, spanning a straight distance of 500 meters to its counterpart at the east bank.

To get some more beam distance, here I choose a place with longer diagonal to the target. From there it should be around 600 m.

Thanks on this comparison.

I was very happy to see comparison between

8. Dereelight X-Searcher XP-G2 ded. / ca. 4A — Vinz Mod. (ca. 450 klux)

9. Crelant 7G5CS Collimator XP-G2 ded. – ca. 5 A – Kenjii Mod (ca. 550 klux)

So same lens diameter lights. And no doubt that Vinz version which is probably done with precoolimator lenses wins with visually much nicer and wider beam (no matter for kcd numbers).

Kenjii should explore precoolimators a bit, and I am also very interested how he managed to get 5A out of XP-G2 and lets say fet driver (almost impossible this days).

Edit:

Kcd values seems to be very relative at some stage so this is 750kcd light:

And 450kcd light:

Little Beamshot update: ET. M25C2 Turbo: XHP-35 Hi vers. XP-G2 ded., UF-T90 XM-L2 ded. and 7G5CS XP-G2 ded.

Quite a few weeks ago, this lovely little crazy thing to see here M25C2 Turbo XHP35 mod by Nexxos , find its destinated way “to daddy’s home”. So here is a short Beamshot comparison with this tiny new toy and the best 3 Musketeers of my little Thrower company, photographed at my favoured tracks for Long Distance Beamshots.

First track targets the 165 m high cooling tower from a nearby coal-fired power plant in our area.
The beam distance is about 580 m /* +*- . Camera mode manuel: iso – 100 , time – 4 sec. , blend – F 5.6
First picture of every flashlight is in natural distance , the second one is with 11 x optical zoom.

!!
!!

For some better overview, in order of appearance a collection of the zoom pics shrinked to 400 pix.

Second track targets the basement of a big power pole placed at the, formerly Roman occupied territories EvilEvilBig Smile ,
on the western banks of the Lower Rhine river.
The beam distance is about 700 m /* +*- . Camera mode manuel: iso – 100 , time – 4 sec. , blend – F 5.6
First picture of every flashlight is in natural distance , the second one is with 11 x optical zoom.

The BLF Q8 & friends – another a bit more floody type of beamshot update.

The arrival of the long time awaited BLF Q8 flashlight seemed to be a good reason for a little beamshot comparison with some other flashlights,
just to show how these are matching up with the great new star on budgets lighting heaven. Thumbs Up

The Q8 is a hell of a big bang. Very good build quality and really great performance. Love to play around with it.
As well not bad is the match up that the relatively small sized, but therefore Vinz handelt, Xeno G10 v2 SST-40 and
Dereelight NM400 XM-L2 ded./Pre-Lens are showing here.

Finally -, just to share, here comes a sensational snapshot that I was lucky to catch during a long trip at Wild Western Coasts,

Here is a first short beam comparison with my BLF GT and some other lucky throwers.
Unfortunately the overall outside conditions had not been that ideal for beam shots, cause down by the river the ambient humidity was a bit too much. But first time on the road with the GT, I decided to give the camera at least a chance respectively an experimental try.

The target zone is once again the basement area of a big power pole placed at the western bank of the Lower Rhine river, but from a place decently more far away, so that the beam distance should be about ~1100 m. !!
Camera settings: manual mode – iso 100 – time 5 s – blend F 5.6, first pic is normal distance, second pic is with 11x optical zoom.

1. Crelant 7G5CS Collimator XP-G2 ded. – ca. 5 A – Kenjii Mod (ca. 550 klux)

!!
2. Ultrafire – T90 – XM-L2 ded. / ca. 6,5 A madmark Mod. ( ca. 550 klux)
!!
!!
3. EagTac – M25C2 Turbo – XP-G2 ded. / 2 × 18650 w. original Treiber (ca. 765 klux)
!!
!!
4. BLF GT XHP35 Hi (klux not measured yet)
!!
!!

For some better overview, the zoom pics shrunken to 400 pix.

Despite the badly conditions, i. m. o. the pics are showing impressively that there is a new sheriff in town.
Will do some more beam shots at better weather conditions.
