What is your favorite car?

Just kidding. This is a light forum! Hello from Vancouver, Canada.

I stumbled on cpf and blf back when I was interested in the Fenix LD20 R4 and have lurked since.

I eventually settled on the LD20 R5 which I have since retired. My current go-to light is the Fenix UC35. The UC35 is great, but I wanted something with a little throw. My contenders were the Predator Pro v3 and EagleTac G25 something. Both allowed me to use 2 cells… But I could not justify the purchase. (I know, none of these are budget lights, but read on!)

I picked up a pair of pre-assembled clear anodized Convoy C8s a few weeks back and am now hooked on the idea of a pocket thrower. What if it had a larger reflector, took more cells…had 12x7135 or a FET+1?! Hell it doesn’t even have to pocketable. And so it just snowballs from there.

Anyways, my main reason for finally registering is because of my interest in the Q8 project. Not even going to deny it.

See you around.

My favorite car is the one that I edc, either my Eagletac D25A Ti or my Klarus Mi7 Ti, all others, just garaged.

Unfortunately i don’t own one or will i ever (unless miracles happen):

Welcome to BLF !

Mazda MX5 or Miata as known in some countries. I had an NB 2 years ago. You can’t get so much driving fun for that price in any other car.

But this is a flashlight forum so welcome! :+1:

My 95 Mustang GT. Had it for 10 years. Sold it in mint condition. It’s one of the few things I’m sorry I sold.

Welcome to BLF.

My own car is one of my favorite, E46 M3. It is unfortunately no longer my daily driver. Company car is the one I have/should use (5 series).

Tesla Model S 100D :+1:

Could own best pick:
2017 Lincoln MKZ
400hp/400tq twin turbo v6
Every option a luxury car should have not just a car with a brand: auto traffic stop and go, magnetic suspension, auto lane keep, led headlights, panoramic moonroof, 20 speak stereo
$63k new but nobody wants a Lincoln $30k used

Probably won’t ever be able to buy best pick:
2017 BMW M6 convertible

My favorite car is Great Wall Hoover H5.
The previous was Lada Niva.

Welcome to BLF

Don’t have a lot with cars
We had several Citroens (BX) for taxes and insurance was about the same low figure as a very small car yet it were big cars with smart folding back bench and suspension so we could take a lot if stuff
Now a Citroen C4 grand Picasso with flexible layout (either 3 or 5 places in the back of all folded down for lots of space.
No owners tax in France and it runs 20-22km on a liter of diesel (is that 50mpg?)

Right now, the Buick LaCrosse.

Having a lot of fun with this one. Ballsy car, nice ride, great interior, lots of thoughtful features (eg, side mirrors that tilt down when in reverse to see parking lines, curbs, etc.) without being overloaded with technocrap.

I decided to spoil myself.

Least favorite car I’ve owned was my 1992 Corvette. Nothing but endless problems. Yep, that’s me. I was 40 years old at the time.

Company car. The best car in the world. Free ride all the time.

Corvette. C5. Lots of power, surprisingly fuel efficient, cheap to mod, cheap and easy to maintain, cheap and easy to repair, low insurance, huge trunk, fast in a straight line and around corners, stops very well, does not have a backseat, has a decent top speed, and seems to be invisible to cops as it’s the only car I haven’t got a speeding ticket in. Of course I’m loving that I now work in a speed shop that seems to install LS engines in everything. It was my daily driver for about a decade, then I finally decided that it was time to get a vehicle with more ground clearance, so now I have a Jeep too. If I get another car, it’ll be an Exocet, and it’ll definitely have an LS.

Oh gosh, that is a lot more replies than I was anticipating!

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

My daily is a 1998 Civic. 1.6L economy box! Though I am looking for a 2007 Civic SI Sedan, or 2006 Acura TSX. Something a little more modern and extravagant now that I am working and out of school.

It’s great to see another MX5 fan. My aunt has an NB, and myself have a 1991 NA in BGR with the tan interior. Fully stock except for the additional of a 330mm diameter wooden Nardi steering wheel.

The E36 is lovely! Powerful looking and natural progression of the 3 series. Id have to say my favorite is the E30, and after driving a co-workers’ 325i, it is still one of my all time favorites. (do you see the trend? Yes, I am a fan of cars from the 80’s and early 90’s). My current list of cars that I would be happy to simply sit in include the Nissan R32 Skyline GTR, Mazda ND RX7, first generation Honda NSX, BMW E30 M3, 2002, E9, and Mercedes 190 E Evolution.

Funny that the LaCrosse is mentioned! My supervisor was in town and the rental gave her one (sorry don’t know the trim level) so I was checking it out. The MKZ are nice too, along with Jaguar XF series! Much out of my price range however.

The first sports car I ever sat in was that 1995/1998 body style Mustang convertible in white. I was too young to know what a GT model was back then, but that is still in the back of my mind.

I had to search the Great Wall Hoover H5, that is interesting with a Mitsubishi power plant. Sadly, doubt it will ever make its way to Canada. Now that you have identified the vehicle, I may have seen some in Vietnam and Philippines while traveling In November last year.

Teslas are becoming ever more common! It is great because it drives innovation and development. Just like the switch to mainstream forced induction on the current generation of vehicles. Recently I have seen several Tesla SUVs on the road! Very exciting.

The only diesel vehicle I have ever driven is a VW Polo in the UK. Lots a power in that little car and very economical; i think it was a 3 cylinder as well. As far as I know, it is not available in Canada due to regulations.

And finally, Jerommel! What vehicle is that? I will admit I have never seen it before.

Alas, I will eventually figure out how to tag your user names. However I am on a mobile and things are slow/don’t format correctly.

A french car as a favourite? Well…. :sunglasses: You know, i even though of getting the new Megane for the wifey, it seems nice( especialy now, you can get the intence version here for 16 k euros)

Yet, all the nicies ended when they told me the luggage-grid can hold up to 50 kgs tops cause its fully made of plastic…

As a favourite, several Mercedes models, but mostly CLA45 AMG atm

But most likely i would never get one…

It’s Citroen DS

Recently bought Fiat Stilo and I just love it

Welcome to BLF.

Favorite car is my 1983 Jetts 2dr.
I built it and modded it myself…. engine, trams, brakes & suspension.

We’re quite loquacious.

Still got a ’99 Regal, too. Nothing wrong with an older car, unless it starts falling apart on you. Take care of it, and it’ll take care of you. Had an ’86 Cavalier for over 20yrs. Rode like it was on rails. Silver hatchback w/ louvers, unintentionally looked like a DeLorean. Swore I’d keep it ’til it’d blow up on me, which it eventually did, sadly.

About 3yrs is the “sweet spot” for used cars. Most of the depreciation hit is taken in those first few years, so you’re getting a new-ish car at a bargain price. Longer than that, you’re risking more wear’n’tear, higher likelihood of repairs, etc., for not much lower pricing.

I saw the listing, the features, etc., and just said, “That’s mine…”, and did it.

One thing about Buick is that they make great engines, from the 3.8L turbo in the Grand National / GN-X, up to the recent Regals and LaCrosses (though NA, not TC/SC). The most recent LaCrosse generation has a 3.6L instead, and it’s definitely meant to rev! My Regal is nice and torquey, has loads of low-end pull, and moves the car without needing to rev too high. My LaCrosse revs with no hesitation, and the 6spd tranny works so seamlessly with it that it’s almost like having a CVT in it. And it’s got a great exhaust note.

But just sitting in it… man, it feels good. “Wrapped in luxury” is right.

I hope you enjoy your stay, starcrazed!
