I need some new batteries and went to DX.com where I have always bought them in the past only to find out they will no longer ship them to North America (I’m in Canada). Same thing at GearBest.com
(Edit: Maybe it’s just Canada they won’t ship to?!)
I need some new 14500’s and 18650’s !
Suggestions on where to buy some good batteries would be appreciated!
I paid for tracking and insurance on the order just in case (only a couple bucks). Tracking showed it left China on the 4th. No update to the tracking info since. Not worried yet….
I’m in Canada as well. Ordered four 30q’s June 26 regular shipping, no show so they were reshipped on August 5 using registered air mail. Have not seen either order yet.
Has anyone in Canada received batteries from Banggood recently?
I’m waiting on 3 different BG battery orders from last month. Other stuff (non-batteries) I’m getting fine. I’m not concerned yet, as I assume they’re going surface once they hit Canada (I think that’s the rule now).
However, I placed another order for some 30Q’s, this time with tracking. I want to see where the delay is.
Hopefully, customs isn’t just confiscating them, or Canada Post throwing them out because they’re lithium-ion. Isn’t China Post the ones who would reject them?
Is “standard shipping” (no tracking) air mail, or is it surface over the Pacific Ocean? If the latter, it could take months!
I ordered some 30Q’s in a plastic case and some 26650’s yesterday from BG. Both have shipped together. I get most of my BG stuff in under two weeks with the free shipping. I will keep you posted
EDIT Sept. 19 On Sept. 18 I received 3 packs of 4 30Q’s from BG. They had been ordered Sept. 6. Hope that lots more will arrive as well
Excellent suggestion. Very good prices and they ship to Canada. Ordered a bunch of 18650s.
I was trying to look for their store rating but it seems that Aliexpress currently isn’t set up to make store ratings available. Looked instead at reviews of individual products they sell and it seems to indicate their stuff is good and legit. I have no reason to believe that Aliexpress manipulates reviews like Gearbest does. I actually like Gearbest except for the fact that they censor reviews not to their liking. Gearbest is reliable for batteries (except for anything branded **fire!). But be careful buying memory cards from them.
I took a quick look for that but I didn’t see anything. It was late so I threw them on the charger, tossed the packaging in the garbage and went to sleep. I think the cells were around 3.6 volts.
I saw some new shipping requirements somewhere with a new symbol for lithium batteries and a requirement for shipping at less than 30% charge.
It might be time to stockpile some batteries while shipping is free.
