New Convoy Host

I got this picture from Convoy aliexpress store. Did not see this model before on the forum.
Will be available soon as host.
!!

Interesting

Wow, looks nice!
If it is in the same price range as the C8, it will be a great host

Looks decent.
Looks a bit like a c8 that has got a makeover.

Hope it will be a 21700 sized light, but it doesn’t look that big.

M3?

Good lookin' host!

What’s going on on the outside is bit too noisy to my taste (what do designers have with those medieval battlement things on the bezel?), but everything to get rid of the classic C8 design

Its lightened tail switch must be very bright.

Because if heat shedding was not a concern why would the tail cap be finned?

I still wait for something more powerful then l6, i guess something this year will come out?

T.b.h. I still like the classic maglite design, which is timeless, do we really need all those fins?

maukka should answer this question soon.

You probably already know the answer but still:
‘Unfortunately’ yes. Led flashlights do require some way to dissipate the heat. Using fins is the most efficient way that is easy to incorporate in a flashlight design.
I do agree that the sleek looking classic maglite design is great and timeless.

I really hope it has a very good solid led shelf. Otherwise those fins are a waste.

C8 Evolved?

C9

I do not mind fins, I think fins are good, I mind random spikes and craters.

For example: I really like the smooth way the finning is done on my LuckySun F3X, including the plain SS bezel. Actually it is a production mistake in one of the batches, the original F3X did have (IMO) ugly random cutouts in the finning area.

Btw, the battery tube on the F3X I find too busy again, with a whopping 3 types of texture on one tube!

A photo of this was posted a while ago on the S2+ DT version:

Maybe it is a reality now…

Will sale very well if it’s 21700 host.

Will sell even better when its 18650…
I have like 70 18650s and 0 21700s - and that is the case for most people.

:person_facepalming: so many ridges and facets. You just know the HA will not last long around them. How about saving the extra machining cost and spend it on other components?

Not interested in 21700 at all?
